Racing Incident Report
With the intention of being ridden quietly today, HARVEST began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. KING OF SPADES began awkwardly and bumped with MIRACULOUS. On jumping, TIME SUPREME and TOP HEALTH bumped. QUICK NEWS was a little slow to begin. Shortly after the start, KING OF SPADES and TIME SUPREME were checked when crowded for room between MIRACULOUS and TOP HEALTH, both of which shifted ground. With the intention of being ridden forward today from the outside draw, PRESENT TREASURE was ridden along in the early stages, however, was not able to clear runners to its inside and consequently raced wide and without cover throughout. In the early stages, EUPHORIC KID proved difficult to settle. In the early and middle stages, TOP HEALTH proved difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, TIME SUPREME and PLENTY OF HEART bumped as a result of both horses shifting ground. As a result of this, TIME SUPREME became badly unbalanced. In the middle stages, PRESENT TREASURE hung out. At the 700 Metres, TIME SUPREME was steadied and shifted to the inside of HAPPY ALL AROUND which at this time shifted out. Just prior to straightening, VITAL PATROL became unbalanced when crowded for room between PRESENT TREASURE and TOP HEALTH which when continuing to prove difficult to settle shifted to the outside of the heels of MIRACULOUS. In this incident, PRESENT TREASURE became unbalanced when bumped by VITAL PATROL. Also just prior to straightening, KING OF SPADES was steadied away from the heels of HARVEST. Near the 300 Metres, VITAL PATROL was steadied when unable to improve behind PRESENT TREASURE and outside TOP HEALTH which itself was steadied to avoid the heels of EUPHORIC KID which shifted out momentarily. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, HARVEST was held up and unable to improve behind EUPHORIC KID. Near the 100 Metres, VITAL PATROL got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of TOP HEALTH. For the major part of the race, PLENTY OF HEART raced wide and without cover. EUPHORIC KID was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of EUPHORIC KID after the race did not show any significant findings. TIME SUPREME, QUICK NEWS and STRONG GALLOP were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 14 February 2005)
TOP HEALTH was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu last Saturday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TOP HEALTH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
