Racing Incident Report

CLASSA WIN was slow to begin. CZAR OF PRUSSIA was a little slow to begin. PROGRESSING TIMES began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of VICTORY MARBLE. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, CLASSA WIN became unbalanced inside CZAR OF PRUSSIA. After this, CLASSA WIN hung in. Near the 200 Metres, SUPER FANTASY became unbalanced after being bumped when crowded for room between ROYAL FALCON and SHABU SHABU. After the 200 Metres, PROGRESSING TIMES was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running between ARMONDO which was giving ground and TOY QUEST which shifted in. Over the concluding stages, SHABU SHABU hung in. For the major part of the race, ROYAL FALCON hung in. D Whyte (PROGRESSING TIMES) explained the intention tonight from a wider draw had been to ride the horse with cover. He said the horse can travel keenly in its races, therefore on jumping he immediately took hold and shifted across behind runners to a position with cover which was further back than the horse usually races. F Coetzee (SUPER FANTASY) said he had been instructed to ensure if possible he rode the horse with cover. He said SUPER FANTASY got its head up on jumping and he was concerned if he rode along in the early stages VICTORY MARBLE would cross him on the outside and leave him racing in a three wide position without cover, he therefore steadied his mount in the hope of being able to obtain a position behind FLYING SUCCESS. He said approaching the winning post on the first occasion SUPER FANTASY was proving difficult to settle and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FLYING SUCCESS and tight inside ROYAL FALCON. He said after this he continued to be crowded for room by ROYAL FALCON and then near the 1300 Metres had to take hold of his mount when that horse shifted in when not properly clear of him. He said SUPER FANTASY continued to prove difficult to settle and remain awkwardly placed close to the heels of ROYAL FALCON until after the 800 Metres. He said because of the manner in which SUPER FANTASY travelled in the early and middle stages of the race it did not close the race off. C Soumillon (ROYAL FALCON) was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in when not properly clear of SUPER FANTASY near the 1300 Metres. ROYAL FALCON, CZAR OF PRUSSIA and SUPER FANTASY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ROYAL FALCON, CZAR OF PRUSSIA and SUPER FANTASY after the race did not show any significant findings. MONEY STRONG and VICTORY MARBLE were sent for sampling.
