Racing Incident Report
CONQUEROR lost its left front plate whilst inside the saddling stalls. The horse was re-plated and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. G Schofield (DR HAENSLER) was fined $1,000 for initially entering the incorrect barrier stall. CONQUEROR was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room outside SUPERSONIC which on jumping blundered and shifted out abruptly. On jumping, DR HAENSLER knuckled. Also on jumping, BULLDOZER and HAPPY ALL AROUND bumped. BIG WINNER was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, FASTER FASTER was steadied when awkwardly placed between JADE DANCER and DOUCAI. Also shortly after the start, B Prebble (SUPERSONIC) reached down with his left hand and adjusted his foot in the stirrup. For a considerable distance in the early stages, TROPHY (D Whyte) and BULLDOZER raced tight outside EVER MORE which when hanging tended to shift away from the rail. D Whyte was told in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure he does his utmost to protect runners to his inside. O Doleuze (DOUCAI) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the turn at the 700 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of TROPHY, causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be checked. O Doleuze was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday 5 March 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday 26 February 2006. In addition, O Doleuze was fined $80,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating two further racedays. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, BULLDOZER got its head up, hung out, shifted across the heels of DOUCAI and was checked. BULLDOZER continued to hang out in the middle stages and as a result caused inconvenience to TROPHY and FASTER FASTER which were carried wider. After the 600 Metres, BIG WINNER became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside the heels of JADE DANCER. For the major part of the race, EVER MORE hung out. G Schofield said today he had been instructed to allow the horse which was having its first start on the All Weather Track to travel where it felt comfortable. He said in the past DR HAENSLER had shown itself to over-race badly. He said today after beginning well he was able to cross to the lead without making any use of the horse, however, it again failed to finish the race off. He said in his opinion DR HAENSLER is best suited to being ridden with cover if circumstances permit. BIG WINNER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BIG WINNER after the race did not show any significant findings. JADE DANCER and BULLDOZER were sent for sampling.
