Racing Incident Report
GOLDIE FLANKER was slow to begin.
LOOK ERAS began only fairly.
From the outside barriers, DRAGON WARRIOR and GOLDEN EFFORT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Mr C S Shum, the trainer of GOLDEN EFFORT, stated that it had been decided to ride the horse more conservatively given its outside barrier and the race was expected to be run at a fast tempo. He said it was hoped that by riding GOLDEN EFFORT more conservatively, it may allow the horse to finish off its race stronger than it had been at its recent starts.
ELITE SPIRIT was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Despite being hard ridden in the early stages, MASSIVE MOVE, which began only fairly, failed to muster speed.
Passing the 250 Metres, GOLDIE FLANKER was awkwardly placed behind ELITE SPIRIT when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running to the outside of horses.
In the Straight, ELITE BOY raced with its head on the side and lay in under pressure, resulting in its rider, T Berry, having to stop riding and correct his mount on a number of occasions.
Throughout the race, STARTLING POWER travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of LUCKY MASTER and LOOK ERAS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of AMAZING RACE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING RACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GOLDIE FLANKER, STARTLING POWER and ELITE BOY were sent for sampling.
