Racing Incident Report

On leaving the Parade Ring, CALIFORNIA LEVEE kicked a rail. On arrival at the Start, CALIFORNIA LEVEE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
MARVEL DRAGON shifted out at the start and bumped FANTASY. MARVEL DRAGON and FANTASY were then crowded for room shortly after the start between GLENEALY GENERALS and STANLEY PARK, both of which shifted ground.
ORIENTAL AMIGO was slow to begin.
From the outside barriers, KEEP YOU WARM and WIND N GRASS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the first turn, GLENEALY GENERALS (T H So) got its head up and shifted out towards the heels of CALIFORNIA LEVEE, resulting in GLENEALY GENERALS being checked and losing ground. After the race, T H so stated that in this incident his saddle shifted back.
GLENEALY GENERALS lay out rounding the Home Turn and inconvenienced FANTASY.
Passing the 350 Metres, GLENEALY GENERALS shifted out under pressure and again inconvenienced FANTASY.
Apprentice C L Chau (RELENTLESS ME) dropped his whip approaching the 250 Metres.
Passing the 100 Metres, FANTASY raced tight between GLENEALY GENERALS and WIND N GRASS (C Schofield) which shifted in. FANTASY continued to race tight inside WIND N GRASS until close to the finishing line when FANTASY was steadied away from the heels of WIND N GRASS. C Schofield was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he makes every endeavour to straighten his mount in similar circumstances. C Schofield was also spoken to about using the whip down the shoulder of WIND N GRASS when racing tight outside FANTASY.
A veterinary inspection of GLENEALY GENERALS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FANTASY, RELENTLESS ME and STANLEY PARK were sent for sampling.
