Racing Incident Report
SUPER MISSION and BRANDING POWER bumped heavily at the start, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
DIVINE ERA and SUPER WINNER bumped at the start due to both horses shifting ground.
WHO LOVES THE ACE shifted out at the start and inconvenienced HAPPY RUBY which in turn was taken out onto HOLYSHOWCASING which became badly unbalanced when buffeted for room inside GOLDEN BOLT which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of DRAGON FORTUNE which shifted in after being bumped by DESTINE JEWELLERY. This resulted in HOLYSHOWCASING losing ground. GOLDEN BOLT was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.
Also from wide barriers, HAPPY RUBY, DRAGON FORTUNE and DESTINE JEWELLERY were all shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, SUPER MISSION was bumped by BRANDING POWER which was crowded for room inside PRANCE DRAGON which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SUPER WINNER which shifted in marginally. After this, PRANCE DRAGON travelled keenly and got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover.
After the 1000 Metres, DIVINE ERA, which was having its first race start, commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted in abruptly across the heels of SUPER MISSION approaching the 900 Metres, resulting in DIVINE ERA being very awkwardly placed behind SUPER MISSION which itself was being steadied to obtain cover behind PRANCE DRAGON.
In the early stages, HAPPY RUBY proved very difficult to settle when being steadied to obtain cover. Then making the turn near the 900 Metres, HAPPY RUBY got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of WHO LOVES THE ACE which was bumped by SUPER MISSION which got its head on the side and shifted out when continuing to be awkwardly placed behind PRANCE DRAGON. After this, DIVINE ERA continued to travel keenly until after the 700 Metres.
As WHO LOVES THE ACE commenced to give ground rounding the Home Turn, HAPPY RUBY was shifted out abruptly away from the heels of that horse, causing LUCKY PUZZLE to be inconvenienced.
Also rounding the Home Turn, DRAGON FORTUNE was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of DESTINE JEWELLERY when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.
At the entrance to the Straight, PRANCE DRAGON raced tight outside BRANDING POWER which shifted out.
Close to the finishing line, BRANDING POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PRANCE DRAGON and consequently was not ridden out all the way to the finishing line.
After the race, C Soumillon stated that WHO LOVES THE ACE became very stirred up prior to the start. He said during the race WHO LOVES THE ACE did not feel comfortable in its action and shifted ground on a number of occasions when racing greenly. He said WHO LOVES THE ACE came under pressure rounding the Home Turn and again did not feel comfortable in its action when giving ground over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of WHO LOVES THE ACE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WHO LOVES THE ACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Also after the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that WISDOM PATCH and PRANCE DRAGON were both found to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
A veterinary inspection of DESTINE JEWELLERY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DIVINE ERA, DECISIVE TWELVE and SUPER WINNER were sent for sampling.
