Racing Incident Report

K C Leung (HAPPY GATHERING) and C Y Ho (LE PLUS VITE) were each fined $2,000 for initially presenting themselves to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number.
PRIDE OF DRAGON, which was standing awkwardly in the barriers, jumped only fairly.
On jumping, DOUBLE SHOW was crowded for room between LE PLUS VITE and ALLOY KING which was taken in by COLONEL.
Soon after the start, HUNKY DORY dipped, shifted in and made contact with CIRCUIT SPLENDOR.
CIRCUIT SPLENDOR raced keenly in the middle stages.
When placed under pressure near the 200 Metres, COLONEL shifted in abruptly and as a consequence became awkwardly placed close to HAPPY GATHERING and was steadied away from the heels of that runner. A short distance later, HAPPY GATHERING shifted out slightly and placed COLONEL at a further disadvantage. In this incident, ALLOY KING was taken out by COLONEL near the 150 Metres and as a result bumped CIRCUIT SPLENDOR which became unbalanced.
DASHING GENIUS raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
The Stewards opened an inquiry into C L Chau’s riding of CIRCUIT SPLENDOR throughout the event with particular emphasis on the early stages and in the Home Straight. After taking evidence from Mr T P Yung, trainer of CIRCUIT SPLENDOR, and Jockey Chau, the inquiry was adjourned until a date to be fixed. A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT SPLENDOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

EUROMISSILE, RAGING BLAZE and HAPPY GATHERING were sent for sampling.
