1 6 SPECIAL HEDGE (H354) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 2 FIGHT TIME (H409) Between the 350 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up before being shifted to the inside of JOYFUL LIFE to secure clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 13 REGENCY HAPPY STAR (H248) For some distance near the 500 Metres was shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA ICON to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with JOYFUL LIFE. Lay out over the final 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 7 FLYING PHANTOM (J086) No report.
5 8 SO AWESOME (D258) In the middle stages raced keenly. Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. For some distance after the 200 Metres then raced in restricted room between JOYFUL LIFE and LAPRAS which shifted out slightly. When questioned, Apprentice P N Wong stated that from the outside barrier her instructions were to ride her mount with cover in the early stages. She said after commencing awkwardly SO AWESOME was shifted across behind runners in the early stages when positioned at the rear of the field. Assistant Trainer W H Ip representing Trainer K L Man confirmed the instructions were to obtain cover but advised that SO AWESOME settled further back in the field than expected when it commenced awkwardly. Noted to have blood in the mouth after the race.
6 11 LAPRAS (H374) Near the 1000 Metres raced in restricted room between LUCKY MAN which was racing tight to the inside of JOYFUL LIFE and GO HERO which shifted out slightly. Near the 50 Metres was bumped by CALIFORNIA ICON which shifted out.
7 14 CALIFORNIA ICON (H404) Shifted out near the 50 Metres and was bumped.
8 9 GANGNAM STAR (H326) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Trainer P C Ng confirmed that from a wide barrier the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
9 4 IVICTORIAM (J226) Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
10 3 THE KHAN (H489) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1200 Metres got its head up and refused to settle. Near the 800 Metres, when continuing to race keenly, shifted out when being steadied away from FLYING PHANTOM. THE KHAN then raced wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 1 LUCKY MAN (J315) In the early stages raced keenly and when being crossed by REGENCY HAPPY STAR (A Badel) approaching the 1200 Metres got its head up when that runner shifted in when not quite clear. A Badel was advised to ensure that he is two lengths clear when shifting ground. LUCKY MAN then continued to race keenly throughout the early and middle stages. After the event, Z Purton stated that his mount raced too keenly in the early stages and raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 10 WINNING TURN (J163) No report.
13 5 JOYFUL LIFE (H426) For some distance near the 500 Metres was taken wider by REGENCY HAPPY STAR which shifted out to improve. In this incident JOYFUL LIFE was bumped by REGENCY HAPPY STAR. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 12 GO HERO (H315) No report.
