Racing Incident Report
| Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
9 | FAMILY FORTUNE (H447) | Near the 450 Metres was steadied to avoid DRAGON SUNRISE when that horse was checked. For a short distance thereafter FAMILY FORTUNE raced tight between REWARDING TWINKLE and DRAGON SUNRISE. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 | STERLING WONGCHOY (H273) | Bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 | PERFECTO MOMENTS (J003) | No report.
6 | TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403) | Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider H Doyle changing her whip to her right hand near the 50 Metres.
5 | SOARING BRONCO (J162) | M Guyon reported that from a wide barrier he had been instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the intention was to ride SOARING BRONCO in a conservative manner in the early stages preferably midfield but the horse settled further back tonight than anticipated as it was caught wide in the early stages.
12 | STRONGEST BOY (H027) | Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with STERLING WONGCHOY.
8 | DRAGON SUNRISE (J269) | Bumped at the start. Approaching the 1400 Metres made contact with WINDICATOR FAMILY when that runner was being steadied to avoid STERLING WONGCHOY. Near the 450 Metres became awkwardly placed behind LUCKY BLESSING as that runner commenced to give ground. A short distance later DRAGON SUNRISE was then checked to avoid LUCKY BLESSING when attempting to improve to that runner’s outside, resulting in DRAGON SUNRISE shifting out and making contact with WINDICATOR FAMILY, taking that runner wider. L Hewitson was advised in similar circumstances he should exercise more care.
4 | IRON LEGION (J459) | Jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
10 | BINGO BABE (K115) | From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 | WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) | Leaving the 450 Metres made heavy contact with DRAGON SUNRISE when that runner shifted out, resulting in WINDICATOR FAMILY being taken wider. J McDonald stated that his mount was disadvantaged by having to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and also being heavily bumped near the 450 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 | REWARDING TWINKLE (J368) | Jumped only fairly. K C Leung reported that whilst the horse was down in class tonight it may not have appreciated carrying the top weight of 135 lbs. He said, in his view, REWARDING TWINKLE may be better suited by being dropped back in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 | LUCKY BLESSING (K073) | When giving ground near the 400 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded between STERLING WONGCHOY and TSUEN WAN GLORY which shifted to the outside of PERFECTO MOMENTS to commence a forward move. M F Poon reported that in the early stages he had to make some use of his mount from his wide barrier to hold a forward position. He said when BINGO BABE improved to his outside near the 500 Metres LUCKY BLESSING came under pressure and weakened from that point. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LUCKY BLESSING, a last start winner, was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY BLESSING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
