The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ALWAYS MY FOLKS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

After being shifted to the inside of EXCEED THE WISH near the 250 Metres FLOOF had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres when improving between EXCEED THE WISH and POWER SUMMIT which was giving ground.
10 2 POWER SUMMIT (K044) 10 J Orman Bumped near the 600 Metres. Over the concluding stages was eased when racing tight to the inside of FLOOF which was taken in by WAH MAY WAI WAI. J Orman stated that with the horse stepping up in distance he was asked to take up a forward position. Trainer D Eustace confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 3 ZETTA FORCE (J546) 3 C L Chau (-2) Shorty after the start was bumped by SMART TRIO which shifted out. For a short distance near the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Bumped near the 150 Metres and then raced tight between FAMILY FORTUNE and DOUBLE BINGO for a short distance thereafter.

12 5 INNO CENTURY (K113) 5 M Chadwick Bumped near the 900 Metres. Approaching the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded between ZETTA FORCE (C L Chau) which shifted to the outside of FLOOF and SMART TRIO which gave ground at that point when being steadied. C L Chau was reprimanded. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 6 FAMILY FORTUNE (H447) 8 J Moreira After the 1400 Metres was steadied to avoid DRAGON SUNRISE when being shifted in behind that runner. Near the 900 Metres improved to the inside of INNO CENTURY and as a result made contact with that runner. Near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid INNO CENTURY. Approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of WAH MAY WAI WAI to continue into clear running and as a result made contact with ZETTA FORCE. Sent for sampling post-race.

9 8 COURIER MAGIC (H290) 12 H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When the pace steadied near the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid ZETTA FORCE which shifted out. Near the 250 Metres was steadied to avoid FLOOF when FLOOF shifted to the inside of EXCEED THE WISH. After the 150 Metres raced tight to the inside of POWER SUMMIT which was giving ground.
6 9 DRAGON SUNRISE (J269) 7 Z Purton Approaching the 1400 Metres was steadied to avoid INNO CENTURY. Near the 800 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid SMART TRIO when that runner gave ground. Z Purton stated that after being steadied near the 800 Metres his mount was obliged to race wide throughout the event and as a result finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 10 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) 9 A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide and without cover throughout the early stages and from the 900 Metres was ridden forward to obtain a position outside the lead near the 700 Metres. Near the 600 Metres shifted in and made contact with POWER SUMMIT.

M F Poon stated that after the 300 Metres he endeavoured to improve to the outside of FRANTANCK to obtain clear running. He said as he did so LAKESHORE HERO lay in which required him to make more effort to shift his mount out. He said when improving to the outside of FRANTANCK, LAKESHORE HERO made contact with VIVA FIRECRACKER which resulted in VIVA FIRECRACKER becoming badly unbalanced and LAKESHORE HERO then having to be steadied to avoid FRANTANCK. M F Poon was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. After being shifted to the inside of FRANTANCK to obtain clear running LAKESHORE HERO was then held up for clear running between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres.
10 9 KOLACHI (J395) 7 H Bentley Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded by RUN RUN TIMING which shifted out. H Bentley stated that his mount had difficulty improving on the Home Turn when positioned behind TO INFINITY and once clear in the Home Straight finished the race off only fairly under riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

3 11 VIVA FIRECRACKER (L065) 9 K Teetan Shifted in at the start and made contact with WIN EASE. K Teetan stated that the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said when his mount jumped well and was caught wide he was obliged to hold a more forward position than instructed. He added in the early stages of the Home Straight his mount was racing greenly and lay in. He said when contacted on the shoulder by LAKESHORE HERO, VIVA FIRECRACKER became badly unbalanced as a consequence.

Shortly after was then steadied when crowded between SHARPEN BRIGHT and ROMANTIC FANTASY which was taken out by SMART CITY which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Approaching the 400 Metres raced tight for a short distance to the inside of ENTHRALLED.
11 6 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) 8 P N Wong (-7) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Apprentice P N Wong was warned in relation to using her whip on a horse that was out of contention.
10 7 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) 2 C Y Ho Near the 300 Metres NOBLE PURSUIT (J Moreira) shifted out to improve, resulting in CAN’T GO WONG being taken out slightly but then having to be checked to avoid FOREVER GLORIOUS when that runner commenced to give ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Moreira was entitled to shift out prior to the 300 Metres no action was taken. As a result CAN’T GO WONG was then badly held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.

4 6 FORTUNATE SON (J446) 11 K Teetan Shortly after the start shifted in, resulting in its rider K Teetan having to correct his mount. Bumped near the 1300 Metres. Near the 1100 Metres was hampered when taken wider by GRATIFIDE which shifted out. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

8 11 SUPREME MASTERMIND (K387) 2 H Bentley Shortly after the start was crowded between WROTE A NEW PAGE which shifted out slightly and GRATIFIDE. Near the 1300 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied to avoid GRATIFIDE. As a result SUPREME MASTERMIND made contact with FORTUNATE SON.

1 3 STORMING DRAGON (J237) 11 H Bowman When questioned H Bowman stated that he was instructed to endeavour to take up a more forward position than its previous race starts if the horse commenced well. He said when his mount commenced well he elected to ride it forward to hold an on-pace position, particularly when the expected leader of the event NORTHERN FIRE BALL had been withdrawn at the Start. Trainer J Richards confirmed that he had requested Jockey Bowman to ride the horse in a positive manner tonight as STORMING DRAGON was carrying equal top weight of 135 lbs and, in his opinion, it would be difficult to make up ground from back in the field under that weight. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 5 GOLDEN EMPIRE (E490) 1 J Orman A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 6 RYUI KOKOROE (L120) 12 H Bentley From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
8 7 ORIGIN OF FORM (K517) 3 M F Poon Approaching the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied when crowded by MOTOR which was taken in by STORMING DRAGON (H Bowman). H Bowman was advised to exercise more care. ORIGIN OF FORM then continued to race keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Bumped approaching the 250 Metres. Passing the 200 Metres was hampered when taken wider by QUARTZ LEGEND.
5 8 QUARTZ LEGEND (K548) 2 J Moreira Approaching the 250 Metres made contact with ORIGIN OF FORM when it attempted to shift to the outside of MOTOR to obtain clear running. After obtaining clear running to the outside of MOTOR passing the 200 Metres QUARTZ LEGEND shifted out, resulting in its rider J Moreira having to stop riding and straighten. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 9 CLOUD NINE (L050) 9 L Ferraris Bumped at the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 10 NEXT FORTUNE (L199) 8 M L Yeung Shortly after the start became unbalanced when racing in restricted room between CLOUD NINE and MOTOR, both of which shifted ground. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
6 11 PRESTIGE HALL (K040) 10 Z Purton Bumped at the start. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Making the turn after the 1000 Metres was hampered when taken wider by FLYING CHRISTIE. Held up making the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight and did not obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres. Approaching the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of QUARTZ LEGEND to continue into clear running. After being shifted to the outside of QUARTZ LEGEND after the 100 Metres PRESTIGE HALL lay in for a short distance and as a result was positioned close to the heels of QUARTZ LEGEND.
10 12 FLYING CHRISTIE (K483) 4 P N Wong (-7) Sustained superficial abrasions to the right hock whilst being transported to the course, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Jumped only fairly. After the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid ORIGIN OF FORM when that runner gave ground whilst being steadied.
WV-A 2 NORTHERN FIRE BALL (J488) C L Chau (-2) Was withdrawn at the Start by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after it was found to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, NORTHERN FIRE BALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WV-A 4 TEAM TEAM FOLKS (K302) C Y Ho Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after it was found to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, TEAM TEAM FOLKS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

7 3 MASTER LUCKY (K582) 2 A Atzeni Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start made contact with RAINBOW SEVEN. Raced keenly throughout the middle stages and for some distance near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid ARGENTO OCEAN. In this incident MASTER LUCKY shifted out and made contact with FATAL BLOW. Bumped near the 400 Metres.

4 5 RAINBOW SEVEN (K145) 1 Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start. The Stewards considered a protest/objection lodged by Z Purton, rider of 4th placegetter, RAINBOW SEVEN, against ARGENTO OCEAN being declared 2nd placegetter alleging interference on the Home Turn. After viewing the videos and considering the evidence the Stewards found that RAINBOW SEVEN became unbalanced near the 400 Metres when crowded for room between GREAT LOOKING which shifted out slightly when giving ground and ARGENTO OCEAN (B Avdulla) which shifted in slightly. As the Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not have occurred that RAINBOW SEVEN would have finished in advance of ARGENTO OCEAN the protest/objection was overruled and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.
3 6 THE HEIR (H459) 4 J Moreira As the start was effected lunged forward and made contact with the starting gate. As a result THE HEIR was slow to begin. Approaching the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid GREAT LOOKING when that runner was giving ground, resulting in THE HEIR shifting out and making contact with MASTER LUCKY. Approaching the winning post could not be ridden out when held up behind WORLD HERO. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 7 FATAL BLOW (J484) 3 C L Chau (-2) Near the 800 Metres was bumped by MASTER LUCKY which shifted out. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
9 8 SUPERB BOY (G335) 6 P N Wong (-7) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start then made contact with CALIFORNIA DEEPLY.
10 9 TRENDY RUSH (L209) 10 H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
12 10 GREAT LOOKING (J198) 9 E C W Wong (-3) E C W Wong stated that his mount became unbalanced making the Home Turn when under pressure and weakened noticeably thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported. As this was the 3rd consecutive occasion that GREAT LOOKING had finished tailed out, the Stewards ruled that it must perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BIENVENUE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

9 9 STRAIGHT TO GLORY (K340) 7 H Bentley Bumped on jumping. Near the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid SYMBOL OF STRENGTH which shifted out slightly. H Bentley could offer no excuse for the horse’s disappointing performance. Trainer C W Chang stated that the horse had pleased him prior to the race and said as the horse is one-paced it was disadvantaged tonight by having to be ridden slightly further back in the field than intended. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 10 PRESTIGE WIN (L248) 6 L Hewitson On jumping made contact with STRAIGHT TO GLORY due to both runners shifting ground. As a result PRESTIGE WIN became unbalanced. L Hewitson stated that he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer B Crawford confirmed the instructions issued.
