M Chadwick was severely reprimanded. Approaching the first turn commenced to race keenly and shifted out when being steadied away from YOUNG FIGHTER. EMERGING STAR then hung out making the first turn and as a consequence raced wide and without cover thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

5 10 JUST FOLLOW ME (K332) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly. Leaving the 900 Metres was eased when being crossed by YOUNG FIGHTER. Approaching the 500 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced when SUPER DRAGON shifted to the outside of KING DANCE to commence a forward move.
8 11 SUPER DRAGON (K389) L Ferraris After the event L Ferraris stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position but when his mount jumped only fairly it settled further back in the field. He said approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres SUPER DRAGON, which was having it first race start, became badly unbalanced when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of JUST FOLLOW ME. He said SUPER DRAGON then continued to race greenly for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 12 WINNING CHAMPION (K429) M F Poon Near the 150 Metres was eased when crowded between MOTOR and ALABAMA SONG which shifted out abruptly. After the event M F Poon stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow WINNING CHAMPION to continue forward to avoid covering additional ground.

8 4 ISLAND GOLDEN (H018) K C Leung After the event K C Leung reported that in the Home Straight his mount was reluctant to improve to the inside of GUSTY FIGHTER when placed under pressure. After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted ISLAND GOLDEN on at the request of Trainer K L Man. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND GOLDEN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 5 TAIHANG SCENERY (J314) E C W Wong (-5) Shifted out at the start and was bumped. In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 600 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from DOUBLE BINGO. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running when being shifted to the outside of FLYING PHANTOM.
6 6 LUCKY GENERATIONS (J338) A Atzeni Bumped at the start and became unbalanced. Near the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid ISLAND GOLDEN when racing keenly. LUCKY GENERATIONS then continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter. Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.

Before being allowed to race again, FALCON COURT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
9 10 SONIC BOOM (H144) M L Yeung After the event M L Yeung reported that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and this was the reason for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 11 DOUBLE BINGO (J309) M F Poon Near the 300 Metres raced in restricted room between GUSTY FIGHTER and SONIC BOOM which shifted in slightly. Noted to have sustained a minor laceration to its left hind leg. Sent for sampling post-race.

10 12 SUNNY DARLING (J171) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly, made heavy contact with the left side of its barrier and as a result lost ground. After the event K De Melo stated that after losing ground at the start his mount settled further back in the field and was unable to make up ground in the Home Straight. BEAUTIFUL WIN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer W Y So yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTIFUL WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

He said with the pace of the event easing in the middle stages he shifted his mount out near the 1000 Metres when being steadied to avoid CELTIC TIMES. He said as a result his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 10 THE WAY WE WIN (J493) H Bentley After the event H Bentley reported that he was given the option of taking up a forward position. He said when his mount commenced well he elected to continue forward to comply with the instructions issued. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions and stated that he issued such instructions as he felt it was advantageous to race on-pace with the rail in the C+3 position.
7 11 PERFECT PEACH (E488) Z Purton Between the 450 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind BEAUTIFUL WIN. After the 200 Metres PERFECT PEACH then endeavoured to obtain a run between BEAUTIFUL WIN and SMART BEAUTY where it was steadied when disappointed for clear running near the 150 Metres. As a result PERFECT PEACH did not obtain clear running until after being shifted to the outside of SMART BEAUTY leaving the 100 Metres.

DNF 2 AEROVOLANIC (K400) E C W Wong (-5) After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that soon after the start his mount blundered and as a result settled towards the rear of the field. He said throughout the early and middle stages his mount did not travel comfortably and did not respond to his riding to attempt to hold a more forward position. He added on entering the Home Straight when he was concerned there may be something amiss with AEROVOLANIC when it again blundered, he then retired the horse from the event. Trainer P C Ng stated that the horse had pleased him during the lead-up to today’s race and he expected it to perform well. He said, in his opinion, the horse blundering soon after the start was the reason as to why its action may not have appeared to be right during the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of AEROVOLANIC was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AEROVOLANIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of TOP TO SKY. Approaching the 200 Metres JUICY DRAGON then could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to JOYFUL TREASURE. After being shifted to the inside of JOYFUL TREASURE near the 150 Metres JUICY DRAGON again could not be ridden out over the concluding stages when positioned close to PATCH OF TIME.

After the event Z Purton stated that after settling back in the field from its wide barrier his mount raced keenly in the middle stages. He said in the Home Straight MASTEROFMYUNIVERSE finished the race off fairly but he was not too disappointed with its performance given that it was required to make up ground from back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 5 COLOURFUL KING (K227) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Y L Chung (SELF IMPROVEMENT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of COLOURFUL KING, resulting in COLOURFUL KING being checked to avoid SELF IMPROVEMENT. In accordance with previous practices, Y L Chung was fined the sum of $35,000 in lieu of a one-day suspension. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record.

10 10 VICTORY SKY (J540) K C Leung Bumped on jumping. After the event K C Leung reported that his mount came under pressure from the 500 Metres and did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have an epiglottic entrapment.
12 11 VIEW OF THE WORLD (J348) K De Melo After the event K De Melo expressed concern with the horse’s action. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 12 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) Y L Chung (-2) Over the concluding stages made contact with PATCH OF STARS when that runner shifted in whilst being ridden along. When questioned regarding the horse racing in a more forward position Y L Chung stated that with the horse stepping up in distance and carrying blinkers for the second occasion, he was instructed to ride his mount in a forward position, particularly in circumstances where there did not appear to be strong pace in the event. Sent for sampling post-race.
