12 3 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) 3 H Bowman Near the 50 Metres was bumped by BULL ATTITUDE which lay in. When questioned regarding the riding tactics adopted tonight, particularly the middle stages of the race, H Bowman explained that his instructions were to go forward if not lead. He said he was able to do that without putting his mount under too much pressure in the early stages. He added that from the 1200 Metres he was aware that GOOD LUCK BABE commenced to increase the tempo, however, he was not in a position to restrain his mount any slower as the more he tried to the more his mount resisted his efforts. When it was explained that the sectionals between the 1200 Metres and the 800 Metres were run well inside standard time Jockey Bowman acknowledged that he was aware GOOD LUCK BABE was going too quickly. He further added that if he tried to go for another hold with his reins the situation would have only worsened given his mount was still very keen. He said as a result of this GOOD LUCK BABE was under pressure from the 200 Metres. Trainer A S Cruz confirmed the instructions and was of the opinion that GOOD LUCK BABE was unable to run out the 1650 Metres and would place the horse back to the 1200 Metres at its next race start where it is likely that GOOD LUCK BABE would settle better in its races.
