7 2 GENERAL SMART (K138) 11 H Bowman Slow to begin. Near the 150 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of WOODFIRE CHAMP to continue into clear running.
2 3 NEBRASKAN (J304) 2 B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
6 4 ROBOT KNIGHT (H464) 6 E C W Wong (-5) Jumped awkwardly. Near the 600 Metres shifted in and made contact with WOODFIRE CHAMP.
3 5 HAPPY BOYS (J545) 12 Z Purton From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance near the 150 Metres was held up for clear running behind EVER SMART.
10 6 SKY SONG (J159) 4 L Hewitson Bumped at the start. Passing the 100 Metres was steadied to avoid BRILLIANT FIRE (D Probert) which shifted out. D Probert was advised to exercise more care and to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner when they shift ground whilst not clear. L Hewitson could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 7 TEAM HAPPY (J218) 5 K Teetan K Teetan reported that in the early stages when unable to cross SKY SONG he elected to come back to follow that runner which resulted in his mount settling further back in the field than what he had intended.
12 8 WOODFIRE CHAMP (H292) 1 M L Yeung Near the 600 Metres was bumped. M L Yeung could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 9 BRILLIANT FIRE (J441) 7 D Probert Noted to have blood at the mouth after the race.
1 10 CONCORDE STAR (J344) 3 J Orman Bumped shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 11 SONIC BOOM (H144) 10 H Bentley Shifted in at the start and made contact with EVER SMART. H Bentley stated that he was instructed to take up a forward position. He said SONIC BOOM was unable to show sufficient pace in the early stages to cross runners to his inside which resulted in his mount racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added that as a consequence SONIC BOOM was unable to finish the race off when under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 12 EVER SMART (J179) 9 H Doyle Bumped on jumping and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

10 2 FUN TOGETHER (H041) 3 C L Chau (-2) Bumped at the start. C L Chau stated that his mount, which was stepping up to the 1650 Metres tonight, would derive a benefit from tonight’s experience. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

9 5 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) 12 B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Over the final 250 Metres was badly held up for clear running and as a consequence could not be ridden out to the finish.
6 6 PING HAI COMET (H344) 4 M L Yeung Bumped at the start.
1 7 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) 8 Z Purton Near the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid GREAT LEGACY when that runner was giving ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 8 GREAT LEGACY (K187) 7 M F Poon Bumped at the start. M F Poon reported that he was given no specific instruction but when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow his mount to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GREAT LEGACY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GREAT LEGACY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 9 PRINCE ALEX (G307) 9 H Bentley Jumped only fairly.
11 10 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) 2 M Guyon Jumped only fairly, shifted out and was then steadied to avoid FUN TOGETHER when that runner shifted in slightly. Near the 350 Metres raced tight to the inside of GREAT LEGACY when that runner shifted in slightly whilst giving ground.
2 11 SETANTA (G095) 10 A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 12 KASA PAPA (G312) 5 H Doyle Approaching the 1500 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded between JOYFUL PROSPERITY and NOBLE PURSUIT which shifted in before being corrected by its rider H Bowman. H Doyle reported that the intention was to hold a forward position but her mount jumped only fairly and then did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
