1 DH 1 GLORIOUS RYDER (K290) 6 L Ferraris Shifted in over the concluding stages and made contact with DRAGON SUNRISE, resulting in its rider L Ferraris having to stop riding with the whip approaching the winning post. L Ferraris pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference over the concluding stages (see TELECOM POWER). Sent for sampling post-race.
11 2 LUCKY BLESSING (K073) 8 M F Poon M F Poon stated that he had to make use of his mount in the early stages to go forward, particularly when caught wide in the early stages. He said as a result LUCKY BLESSING was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
5 3 TELECOM POWER (J332) 9 Y L Chung (-2) Blundered shortly after the start. Approaching the 1000 Metres made contact with WAH MAY WAI WAI due to both runners shifting ground. L Ferraris (GLORIOUS RYDER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that over the concluding stages he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of DRAGON SUNRISE, resulting in DRAGON SUNRISE being taken in onto PERFECTO MOMENTS, resulting in DRAGON SUNRISE and PERFECTO MOMENTS being crowded for room and also resulting in PERFECTO MOMENTS being taken in across the running of TELECOM POWER which was checked. L Ferraris was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 8 April 2026 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
UR 4 STERLING WONGCHOY (H273) 3 D B McMonagle Approaching the finish STERLING WONGCHOY sustained an injury to the left front leg and was immediately treated by Veterinarians. After it was determined that the injury was too severe to be saved, STERLING WONGCHOY was euthanised. D B McMonagle was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his subsequent riding engagement. Samples were taken from the horse.
10 5 TOP TO SKY (K339) 5 C L Chau (-2) Approaching the 200 Metres was hampered when unable to proceed into clear running between STERLING WONGCHOY and GLORIOUS RYDER, both of which shifted ground.
7 6 CARRYON SMILING (J392) 4 M Chadwick Shifted out on jumping and bumped TOP TO SKY.
1 DH 7 SOARING BRONCO (J162) 2 J Orman Near the 350 Metres made contact with WAH MAY WAI WAI and was steadied when disappointed for clear running between WAH MAY WAI WAI and TELECOM POWER. SOARING BRONCO then had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 8 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) 7 B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 1000 Metres made contact with TELECOM POWER due to both runners shifting ground. B Avdulla reported that his mount came under pressure from the 800 Metres and failed to finish the race off thereafter. B Avdulla was questioned in relation to his left leg extending away from his body when SOARING BRONCO endeavoured to improve between WAH MAY WAI WAI and TELECOM POWER approaching the 300 Metres. B Avdulla stated that as he was concerned SOARING BRONCO would continue to shift in he braced himself as he was concerned there would be heavy contact between those two runners. He said this resulted in his left leg extending out to ensure he maintained his balance. After considering his explanation the Stewards found that B Avdulla had not intentionally extended his left leg in an attempt to make contact with SOARING BRONCO and accepted his explanation. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 9 SMART TRIO (J538) 1 R Kingscote No report.
3 10 DRAGON SUNRISE (J269) 12 Z Purton Hampered shortly after the start. Held up for clear running making the Home Turn. Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration if there were sufficient grounds for a protest/objection against GLORIOUS RYDER being declared dead heat first placegetter due to DRAGON SUNRISE being crowded over the concluding stages by GLORIOUS RYDER which shifted in. When the Stewards were satisfied there were not sufficient grounds to do so and no protest/objection was lodged by connections, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 11 HARRY'S HERO (H332) 11 A Badel PERFECTO MOMENTS shifted out on jumping, resulting in HARRY’S HERO being taken out onto DRAGON SUNRISE.
4 12 PERFECTO MOMENTS (J003) 10 M L Yeung Over the concluding stages was crowded for room and could not be ridden out to the finish of the race.

1 2 ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE (K566) 6 A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start. A Atzeni stated that his instructions were to go forward and obtain cover. He said in the early stages he expected MIGHTY STEED (Z Purton) to continue forward and cross his mount but when Jockey Purton maintained his position to the outside of ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE he was obliged to continue forward to ensure that he crossed THE LION KING. He said this resulted in ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE racing in a more forward position than intended. Trainer M Newnham stated that whilst he had asked for the horse to be ridden in a more forward position he had expected MIGHTY STEED to lead the event and ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE to be positioned behind that runner. He said he was surprised to see the horse lead tonight’s event. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 3 COLOURFUL GAN (L054) 11 J Orman Jumped awkwardly. J Orman stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added, in his opinion, the horse did not appreciate the "Good to Firm” track conditions. Trainer D J Whyte confirmed the instructions and stated those instructions were issued as the horse raced in a disappointing manner at its most recent start when it took up a forward position.

6 DH 5 VERMILION TEMPEST (L093) 12 B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

8 7 INNO SUPER (K319) 9 C L Chau (-2) C L Chau stated that he was instructed not to make use of the horse in the early stages and as a result from its wide barrier his mount settled behind midfield. He said in the Home Straight INNO SUPER found it difficult to make up ground from this position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 DH 8 SHOOTING TO TOP (L039) 8 M F Poon Lay out on the Home Turn. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
3 9 THE LION KING (K265) 5 D B McMonagle Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE. Near the 1400 Metres was eased to avoid ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE which was taken in by MIGHTY STEED (Z Purton). Z Purton was advised to exercise more care.
12 10 REGROWTH WINNER (L140) 2 M L Yeung Jumped awkwardly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of REGROWTH WINNER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, REGROWTH WINNER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 11 LESLIE (E471) 10 K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 400 Metres was severely checked when crowded by LUCKY FIELD (Y L Chung) which shifted in abruptly whilst being ridden along. As the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Chung had attempted to immediately react to prevent his mount from shifting in, no action was taken. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 12 LUCKY FIELD (K292) 3 Y L Chung (-2) Making the Home Turn shifted in abruptly when being corrected by its rider. LUCKY FIELD then continued to lay in under pressure in the Home Straight. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the horse. Y L Chung was severely reprimanded for using the whip on a horse which was clearly out of contention. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Race:3 (528) BELLFLOWER HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1000 m

11 1 PARENTS' LOVE (H405) 6 Y L Chung (-2) Y L Chung stated that the instructions were to go forward and lead if possible. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it failed to show sufficient pace to do so and settled in a position further back than anticipated. He added that PARENTS’ LOVE did not travel well throughout the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. Trainer A S Cruz stated that he had been pleased with the horse in the lead up to the race. He said PARENTS’ LOVE was disadvantaged by not being able to lead tonight’s race and, in his opinion, this was the reason for tonight’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of PARENTS’ LOVE was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, PARENTS’ LOVE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

7 4 HARMONY FIRE (E175) 11 H Bowman Shifted in on jumping and made contact with SIR CHARGE. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

12 6 SIR CHARGE (K361) 10 B Avdulla Bumped on jumping. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SIR CHARGE at the request of Trainer D Eustace. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SIR CHARGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 7 HONEST WITNESS (K283) 5 L Ferraris L Ferraris reported that in the Home Straight his mount lay in and proved difficult to ride out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
9 8 WATCH THIS ONE (K268) 4 A Atzeni Jumped only fairly, shifted in, made contact with HEROIC MASTER and as a consequence lost ground. A Atzeni stated that after jumping only fairly his mount settled back in the field and did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 9 GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP (K106) 1 H Bentley Between the 150 Metres and the 50 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of HAPPY UNITED.
5 10 HEROIC MASTER (G394) 3 K Teetan Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
3 11 HAPPY UNITED (H208) 8 M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly.
6 12 SAVVY TWINKLE (K067) 2 A Badel Shortly after the start was bumped by HEROIC MASTER. Near the 800 Metres, when racing keenly, got its head up when being checked to avoid HARMONY FIRE (H Bowman) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. H Bowman was severely reprimanded.

11 11 MAGIC SUPER (K330) 9 M L Yeung Jumped only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC SUPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

WV GREEN FIELD PEARL (K460) --- GREEN FIELD PEARL, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 17.3.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, GREEN FIELD PEARL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

8 3 DIAMOND SPARKLE (L182) 11 L Ferraris On jumping shifted out and made heavy contact with KING OBERON. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
5 4 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) 9 C Y Ho Lay in over the final 100 Metres and over the concluding stages shifted in and made slight contact with SWAGGER BRO. C Y Ho reported that he was given no specific instructions. He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner to avoid covering additional ground.

H Bowman was fined the sum of $10,000 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. In assessing penalty the Stewards determined that Jockey Bowman prejudiced his mount’s chances of finishing in 5th placing.
11 10 FULL OF LAUGHTER (L017) 7 R Kingscote On jumping shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of WINNING CHAMPION.
3 11 SWAGGER BRO (K089) 4 A Badel Bumped on jumping.
4 12 WINNING CHAMPION (K429) 6 H Bentley On jumping became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters. In the early stages raced ungenerously and refused to settle. Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room between SWAGGER BRO and SKY CAP.
WV FORTUNE GOLDSADDLE (L090) H T Mo (-2) Withdrawn on 17.3.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter VIEW OF COSMOS. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE GOLDSADDLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

He added in the Home Straight his mount did not respond to his riding and finished the race off only fairly. 9 2 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) 9 A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 350 Metres was hampered when taken wider by SHARPEN BRIGHT. Bumped near the 250 Metres.
1 3 ACE WAR (J509) 3 Z Purton Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with OCEAN IMPACT. Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded by RELIABLE DAD (J Orman) which was directed to the inside of OCEAN IMPACT when there was not sufficient room to do so. J Orman was reprimanded. A short distance later ACE WAR, which was racing keenly, was then crowded by OCEAN IMPACT which shifted in and away from CHARITY GAIN. Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Held up on the Home Turn. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 4 AMAZING GAZE (K444) 8 L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start. Held up between the 400 Meres and the 300 Metres. Near the 250 Metres shifted to the outside of OCEAN IMPACT to obtain clear running and made contact with NOBLE PURSUIT. L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to go forward. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so and when caught wide he elected to restrain his mount to obtain cover.
10 5 OCEAN IMPACT (J502) 4 C L Chau (-2) Became unbalanced on jumping when bumped on the hindquarters. Near the 500 Metres shifted to the outside of CHARITY GAIN and as a result made contact with SHARPEN BRIGHT. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 6 RELIABLE DAD (L006) 6 J Orman Jumped only fairly.
12 7 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) 7 Y L Chung (-2) Bumped shortly after the start. Bumped near the 500 Metres. Approaching the 300 Metres AMAZING GAZE (L Hewitson) shifted to the outside of OCEAN IMPACT to improve when there was not sufficient room to do so. As a result AMAZING GAZE made contact with SHARPEN BRIGHT, resulting in SHARPEN BRIGHT being crowded for room. Near the 250 Metres SHARPEN BRIGHT was then checked when crowded between NOBLE PURSUIT which shifted in slightly after being bumped by SHARPEN BRIGHT and AMAZING GAZE which was taken out slightly by OCEAN IMPACT. L Hewitson was reprimanded and advised he must ensure that there is sufficient room to improve into runs. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

6 1 COLOURFUL KING (K227) 7 Z Purton On jumping was crowded between KAHOLO ANGEL and YOUNG CHAMPION, both of which shifted ground. Shortly after COLOURFUL KING was then severely checked when crowded between YOUNG CHAMPION which was taken out by BRAVE STAR when that runner was racing tight to the outside of MAGIC CONTROL which also shifted out and KAHOLO ANGEL which was taken in by CHATEAUNEUF which shifted in slightly before being corrected by its rider L Hewitson. Between the 250 Metres and the 100 Metres was badly held up for clear running.
9 2 MAGIC CONTROL (J333) 4 C L Chau (-2) C L Chau stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time his mount commenced well and improved to the lead in the early stages without being pressured to do so. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 3 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) 8 H Bowman On jumping shifted in slightly, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. A short distance later KAHOLO ANGEL was steadied when crowded by CHATEAUNEUF.
2 4 BRAVE STAR (G268) 5 C Y Ho Jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between YOUNG CHAMPION and MAGIC CONTROL which shifted out slightly. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 5 CHATEAUNEUF (J219) 9 L Hewitson After travelling a short distance shifted in, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to stop riding and correct his mount.
1 6 CRIMSON FLASH (K173) 3 A Atzeni Near the 700 Metres was eased to avoid CHATEAUNEUF (L Hewitson) which shifted in when not quite clear. L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race.

3 8 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) 6 K Teetan Shifted out on jumping and made contact with COLOURFUL KING. A short distance later YOUNG CHAMPION was checked when crowded between BRAVE STAR and KAHOLO ANGEL. Between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres made contact with SON PAK FU on a number of occasions when being shifted to the outside of CRIMSON FLASH when CRIMSON FLASH shifted out slightly. K Teetan stated that after being badly crowded at the start his mount then raced keenly and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being checked to avoid SON PAK FU. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
10 9 GUSTOSISIMO (J303) 10 Y L Chung (-2) Y L Chung stated that the instructions were to hold a more forward position. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so and as a consequence settled further back than intended. He added in the Home Straight GUSTOSISIMO failed to respond to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, GUSTOSISIMO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
5 10 SON PAK FU (G265) 2 A Badel Prior to declaring weighed in the Stewards gave consideration if there were grounds for a protest/objection against YOUNG CHAMPION being declared 3rd placegetter due to YOUNG CHAMPION making contact with SON PAK FU on a number of occasions between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres. When the Stewards were satisfied that the contact was initially due to both runners shifting ground and then CRIMSON FLASH shifting out slightly, resulting in YOUNG CHAMPION being taken out, they declined to lodge a protest/objection when they were satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds to do so.

Race:8 (533) HYDRANGEA HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1200 m

When commencing to finish the race off became held up for clear running approaching the 100 Metres behind LUCKY PLANET when that runner commenced to give ground. After being shifted to the outside of LUCKY PLANET, MASTEROFMYUNIVERSE could not be ridden out over the final 100 Metres when held up behind MATTERS MOST and LUCY IN THE SKY. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 2 LUCY IN THE SKY (J275) 1 R Kingscote Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres.
