11 2 MULTIDUTCH (K171) 6 Y L Chung (-2) Kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. After travelling a short distance blundered and then was bumped by BLAZING BEAM. Y L Chung stated that when his mount jumped well he was able to hold a more forward position than what had been anticipated. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 3 BLAZING BEAM (K103) 5 R Kingscote After travelling a short distance was hampered when crowded between MULTIDUTCH and BRILLIANT FIRE which shifted out. When placed under pressure over the final 200 Metres lay in and proved difficult to ride out. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer K H Ting stated that whilst the horse had performed well at its first race start in Hong Kong it had disappointed him subsequently. He said BLAZING BEAM continued to work to his satisfaction in the stable and the only explanation he could offer for the improved showing was that it was assisted by a favourable barrier draw and holding a handy position as a consequence during the running of the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 4 HAPPY BOYS (J545) 9 Z Purton Jumped only fairly. Leaving the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied to obtain a position with cover.
8 5 PODIUM (H173) 7 C L Chau (-2) Jumped only fairly. Over the final 50 Metres was held up behind BRILLIANT FIRE and could not be ridden out to the finish of the race.
2 6 CONCORDE STAR (J344) 12 J Orman On jumping shifted in and made contact with NEBRASKAN. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 7 CHILL MASTER (J319) 2 C Y Ho Jumped only fairly. When questioned C Y Ho reported that on entering the Home Straight he endeavoured to improve between MULTIDUTCH and ORIENTAL SURPRISE. He said when ORIENTAL SURPRISE shifted out and MULTIDUTCH shifted in slightly he was checked when disappointed for this run which resulted in CHILL MASTER getting its head up and becoming unbalanced. He added that after shifting to the inside of ORIENTAL SURPRISE, CHILL MASTER was held up for clear running over the final 100 Metres.
4 8 ORIENTAL SURPRISE (K028) 1 B Avdulla Leaving the 100 Metres was eased to avoid BLAZING BEAM, resulting in ORIENTAL SURPRISE shifting out and making slight contact with LUCKY GENERATIONS.
5 9 BRILLIANT FIRE (J441) 4 A Atzeni After travelling a short distance shifted out and bumped BLAZING BEAM.
7 10 LUCKY GENERATIONS (J338) 3 H Bowman Over the final 150 Metres raced tight to the inside of CONCORDE STAR which shifted in. Passing the 100 Metres LUCKY GENERATIONS was steadied when crowded between ORIENTAL SURPRISE which shifted out when being eased to avoid BLAZING BEAM and CONCORDE STAR (J Orman) which continued to shift in. J Orman was advised to exercise more care. As a consequence LUCKY GENERATIONS could not be ridden out to the finish of the race. When questioned H Bowman stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position from his favourable barrier. He said whilst LUCKY GENERATIONS jumped well tonight, with the early pace of the event being run inside of standard time, he was unable to hold a more forward position in the early stages and as a consequence settled further back in the field than he had intended. He said throughout the middle stages of the event he followed CONCORDE STAR and from the 600 Metres his mount commenced to race keenly and as a result was positioned close to that runner. He added that after the 500 Metres when CONCORDE STAR shifted out to improve his mount became positioned to the inside of that horse which resulted in him not being able to shift out making the Home Turn which was his preferred option. He said as a consequence he elected to improve to the inside of CONCORDE STAR with a view to following BLAZING BEAM but in the Home Straight he was unable to fully test his mount when held up behind BLAZING BEAM and racing tight between ORIENTAL SURPRISE and CONCORDE STAR. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued. After considering the evidence the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Bowman were reasonable in the circumstances. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 11 COLONEL (D090) 8 K Teetan A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, COLONEL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
10 12 EVER SMART (J179) 10 H T Mo (-2) In the early and middle stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres and again near the 600 Metres was steadied away from HAPPY BOYS. When questioned H T Mo stated that as the start was effected his mount stood flat-footed and despite his efforts to have the horse jump with the field it did not respond and as a consequence lost ground at the start. Before being allowed to race again, EVER SMART will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight H T Mo stated that when being ridden out EVER SMART lay in and as a result proved difficult to ride. He added as a consequence he was obliged to place pressure to his left rein at various stages in the Home Straight to ensure that his mount maintained its position with clear running. Jockey Mo was advised he must ensure that, under the provisions of Rule 103, he reports any occurrence in a race which may have affected the running of his horse.

Race:2 (346) YUMMY HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1650 m

7 3 SURE JOYFUL (G125) 12 M Guyon Briefly held up making the Home Turn when being shifted to the inside of INNO SUPER to obtain clear running. For some distance near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind SETANTA. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to PING HAI COMET. M Guyon stated that from the outside barrier his instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide draw. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued.
12 4 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) 10 C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 5 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) 11 Z Purton Z Purton stated that the instructions were to settle in a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages and when he was of the opinion there was no opportunity to obtain cover he elected to allow ABSOLUTE AWAKENED to stride forward and race outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground. Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions issued.

Near the 1100 Metres was checked when crowded between WINNING CIGAR which, after being taken out slightly by GOOD LUCK HAPPY, then shifted out further when it made slight contact with NEVER SETTLE and THE PROMISE (H T Mo) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. H T Mo was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to straighten his mounts sooner than what he did on this occasion. C Y Ho reported that after being checked near the 1100 Metres his mount failed to travel throughout the event, particularly with the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time. He added that in the Home Straight NEVER SETTLE finished the race off only fairly. Trainer K W Lui stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race and concurred with the views of Jockey Ho that the horse had been disadvantaged by being checked in the early stages of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

9 7 WINNING NOW (K532) 7 K C Leung Jumped only fairly. When questioned K C Leung stated that after being bumped heavily by THE PROMISE near the 1100 Metres when that runner shifted out, his mount commenced to race keenly. He said he was then positioned behind CALL TO COMMAND which lay in and near the 900 Metres his mount got its head up and became unbalanced when being checked to avoid CALL TO COMMAND due to it continuing to race keenly.
12 8 THE PROMISE (K219) 5 H T Mo (-2) Near the 1100 Metres made heavy contact with WINNING NOW when being corrected by its rider H T Mo. Leaving the 900 Metres was bumped by WINNING NOW when that horse was racing ungenerously. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <15/1/2026 Additional Veterinary Report> After the race, THE PROMISE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. THE PROMISE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer W Y So this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, THE PROMISE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 9 THE ALL ROUNDER (K402) 9 K Teetan Jumped only fairly. Near the 900 Metres got its head up and shifted out when being checked to avoid GIANT BALLON.
6 10 WINNING CIGAR (K422) 2 H Bentley On jumping shifted out and away from GOOD LUCK HAPPY and made contact with NEVER SETTLE. Near the 1100 Metres bumped with NEVER SETTLE.
3 11 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) 8 M Guyon M Guyon reported that throughout the event his mount lay in and proved difficult to ride.
10 12 SONIC PURSUIT (K051) 4 A Badel A Badel stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position but after jumping awkwardly and getting its head up it settled further back in the field than intended. He said SONIC PURSUIT raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages of the event and refused to settle and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Both M Chadwick and C Y Ho were advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 2 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) 11 H Bowman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind INCANTO STAR. Near the 100 Metres was eased to avoid CALIFORNIA BANNER (M Chadwick) when that runner shifted in when not quite clear. M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care.
7 3 GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137) 2 C Y Ho Jumped only fairly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Noted to have sustained a minor abrasion to the right front leg after the race.

12 5 FORERUNNER (G465) 6 M Guyon M Guyon reported that the intention was to hold a midfield position but after his mount commenced well it was able to hold an on-pace position without being pressured to do so. 7 1 FREE PONY (K229) 5 J Orman Near the 350 Metres was steadied when briefly crowded by GREAT SPIRIT which shifted in slightly.
5 2 SKY CAP (K125) 9 E C W Wong (-5) When questioned Apprentice E C W Wong stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time he was instructed to lead the event. He said as SKY CAP does not possess fast early pace he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to comply with his instructions to cross runners to his inside. He said after entering the Back Straight SKY CAP commenced to race keenly and he was unable to restrain his mount any further to set a more sustainable pace which resulted in SKY CAP racing inside of standard time throughout the early and middle stages of the event. When questioned regarding placing his mount under pressure from the 350 Metres Apprentice Wong stated that as SKY CAP can be one-paced and requires some time to respond to his riding he felt it was the appropriate time to place the horse under pressure despite the fact that it had run inside of standard time throughout the early and middle stages.

11 5 SKY PHOENIX (K404) 2 K Teetan SKY PHOENIX, which had been fractious in the starting gates, jumped very awkwardly and lost ground. As a result K Teetan’s right foot shifted in the stirrup which required him having to reposition his foot soon after. The barrier manners of SKY PHOENIX were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SKY PHOENIX will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. Near the 450 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of DAN ATTACK.
12 6 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) 6 L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that when under pressure in the Home Straight his mount did not respond and when he had concerns there may be something amiss with it he did not ride it out over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, AWESOME TREASURE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

8 1 BEAUTY JOY (E058) 11 B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 1200 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid MOMENTS IN TIME. BEAUTY JOY then raced keenly for some distance thereafter.
7 2 CHANCHENG GLORY (H212) 1 M Guyon Near the 550 Metres was bumped by ENCOUNTERED which shifted in slightly. M Guyon pleaded guilty to a breach of Rule 100(2) in that he failed to ride CHANCHENG GLORY, 7th placegetter, out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards.  For this breach of the Rule, M Guyon was fined the sum of $25,000.
9 3 MOMENTS IN TIME (H474) 9 Z Purton Passing the 1300 Metres, when racing keenly, shifted out slightly and made contact with HELENE FEELING. In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 1200 Metres was steadied away from SPEED DRAGON. Z Purton stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added that MOMENTS IN TIME raced keenly during the event and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 4 HELENE FEELING (H215) 12 H Bowman Bumped leaving the 1300 Metres. Near the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from HONG LOK GOLF.
10 5 ENSUED (H452) 3 A Atzeni Bounded on jumping and lost ground.
6 6 HONG LOK GOLF (J517) 8 H Bentley H Bentley stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the event and, in his view, whilst it had won its only race start at Happy Valley, it did not appreciate racing around the tight circuit. Trainer W Y So stated that the horse had pleased him leading into the race and whilst a veterinary inspection found the horse to be lame in its left front leg he concurred with the view of Jockey Bentley that the horse was not entirely comfortable racing at Happy Valley. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, HONG LOK GOLF will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 7 ENCOUNTERED (G236) 5 K Teetan Bumped near the 550 Metres.
1 8 SPEED DRAGON (H380) 7 L Hewitson Jumped only fairly. Between the 250 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 9 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) 10 E C W Wong A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 10 HUGE WAVE (J197) 4 A Badel Held up for clear running between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres. A Badel, who weighed in at 117 lbs, was fined the sum of $5,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 11 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) 2 M Chadwick Bumped on jumping. Leaving the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid KAHOLO ANGEL (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded.
5 12 WINNING WING (K129) 6 H T Mo When questioned H T Mo stated that whilst he expected the horse to settle back in the field he was instructed to endeavour to maintain a position closer than at its previous race starts and if the pace of the event was slow he was given the option of making a mid-race move on the horse. He said in the early stages he was able to obtain a position behind BEAUTY JOY. He said near the 1200 Metres WINNING WING improved to the outside of BEAUTY JOY where it followed HELENE FEELING. He added as he was of the opinion the pace of the event was slow because WINNING WING was positioned closer than at its previous race starts he felt there was an opportunity to comply with the other aspect of his instructions to make a mid-race move near the 1100 Metres. He further stated that as a consequence he commenced a forward move, however, WINNING WING was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter when it was unable to continue to cross the leaders. Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions issued, however, expressed dissatisfaction with Jockey Mo’s decision to go forward near the 1100 Metres. After considering the evidence including the sectional times of the event and the manner in which WINNING WING was racing at the 1100 Metres the Stewards advised Jockey Mo that he had made an error of judgement in going forward at the 1100 Metres, however, the Stewards in the circumstances elected not to issue a charge under the Rules and advised Jockey Mo that the ride lacked the necessary judgement expected of a jockey riding in this jurisdiction.

Near the 350 Metres GUSTOSISIMO was checked to avoid PACKING BOLE when that runner commenced to give ground, resulting in its rider M Guyon shifting to the outside of PACKING BOLE and making heavy contact with HARMONY N BLESSED, resulting in both runners becoming badly unbalanced. M Guyon was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure that there is sufficient room to improve so that he does not cause interference to his own mount and other runners. He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow the horse to continue forward as the horse has a tendency to race keenly and to avoid POWER KOEPP racing in such a manner.
