8 1 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) 2 Z Purton Shifted out shortly after the start and bumped SHARPEN BRIGHT. When questioned Z Purton stated that whilst his mount jumped satisfactorily it did not show sufficient pace in the early stages despite being ridden along to hold a more forward position. He said this resulted in CAN’T GO WONG settling slightly further back than intended. He added that from the 500 Metres his mount was unable to improve when held up behind GRAND TURBO and SHARPEN BRIGHT and as a result he was obliged to steady CAN’T GO WONG near the 450 Metres. He said making the Home Turn CAN’T GO WONG shifted in and made contact with the running rail when SHARPEN BRIGHT gave ground and shifted in towards CAN’T GO WONG. He further stated that from this point on CAN’T GO WONG found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight, particularly with the middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time. Trainer F C Lor stated the horse had pleased him leading into the race and agreed with the opinion of Jockey Purton. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 2 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) 3 K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start. For some distance near the 500 Metres raced in restricted room between GOOD LUCK WIN and GRAND TURBO.
6 3 GRAND TURBO (L138) 1 R Kingscote For some distance near the 500 Metres GRAND TURBO and SHARPEN BRIGHT raced tight to the inside of GOOD LUCK WIN (K C Leung) which shifted in. K C Leung was reprimanded.

5 5 OCEAN IMPACT (J502) 11 L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that his instructions were to hold a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to settle further back in the field than intended to avoid covering additional ground.
7 6 YOUNG FIGHTER (K464) 8 E C W Wong (-3) Near the 100 Metres shifted in and away from GOOD LUCK WIN.
12 7 SMILING ONE (K336) 5 M F Poon In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid GOOD LUCK WIN. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 8 GOOD LUCK WIN (J135) 10 K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
1 9 GOLDEN FORTUNE (K500) 7 B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
10 10 SPLENDID FORCE (K120) 4 J Orman Near the 300 Metres became unbalanced when being steadied to avoid CAN’T GO WONG when CAN’T GO WONG gave ground at that point. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SPLENDID FORCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 11 PERFECT PAIRING (J331) 12 A Atzeni Slow to begin. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
9 12 TURF PHOENIX (J294) 6 H T Mo (-2) H T Mo stated that he was instructed to hold a midfield position. He said he rode his mount in accordance with his instructions in the early stages but TURF PHOENIX raced keenly and refused to settle in the early and middle stages. Trainer K H Ting confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as TURF PHOENIX had failed to run on when previously ridden in a forward position.

10 1 GLORIOUS DYNASTY (L315) 8 L Hewitson Crowded shortly after the start by LIGHTNESS OF BEING which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
4 2 LUCKY MCQUEEN (K064) 10 M F Poon Near the 150 Metres made slight contact with LIGHTNESS OF BEING due to both runners shifting ground. Trainer W K Mo confirmed that M F Poon was given the option to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages from its wide barrier.
12 3 VIGOR HAPPINESS (L284) 2 E C W Wong (-3) Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with LOVING VIBES. Near the 600 Metres lay in and made contact with the running rail. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight E C W Wong stated that when ridden with the whip his mount had initially responded to his riding. He said near the 150 Metres he became slightly unbalanced when his whip failed to connect with the horse. Jockey Wong was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to ride with more control than what he had exhibited on this occasion. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 4 WINNING MONEY (J116) 12 L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that after making use of his mount to take up a position outside the lead WINNING MONEY failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

1 7 NEW POWER (H325) 5 M L Yeung Sent for sampling post-race.
5 8 I AM BACK (L061) 6 C Y Ho Shortly after the start was eased when crowded between TACTICAL COMMAND and NEW POWER which shifted out.
3 9 LIGHTNESS OF BEING (K159) 9 Y L Chung (-2) Shifted in shortly after the start and made contact with GLORIOUS DYNASTY. Near the 150 Metres made slight contact with LUCKY MCQUEEN due to both runners shifting ground. Y L Chung reported that his mount lay in in the Home Straight.
9 10 LOVING VIBES (J359) 1 A Atzeni Bumped on jumping. When questioned A Atzeni stated that he was given the option of holding the lead if his mount showed sufficient pace to do so but not to make too much use of the horse to hold the front. He said in the early stages when HAYDAY and WINNING MONEY showed superior pace he elected to obtain a trailing position behind those runners. He said as his instructions were to endeavour to shift away from the rail in the Home Straight he looked to improve to the outside making the Home Turn but was unable to shift out due to WORLD HERO being positioned to his outside and travelling reasonably well. He added for this reason he maintained his position behind HAYDAY with a view to improving to the outside of HAYDAY but when WINNING MONEY maintained its position to the outside of HAYDAY he elected to improve to the inside of HAYDAY. He said as he shifted to the inside a run developed between HAYDAY and WINNING MONEY but as he was committed to the inside he continued to ride his mount along. He further stated that near the 150 Metres when LOVING VIBES was not responding to his riding he then elected to shift his mount out to follow HAYDAY in an endeavour to ride to his instructions but LOVING VIBES disappointed in its failure to finish the race off in the Home Straight. Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions were to endeavour to shift away from the running rail and advised that, in his opinion, this was the principal reason for LOVING VIBES not being able to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LOVING VIBES was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, LOVING VIBES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 11 SMILING CHAMPION (K565) 11 K Teetan Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
11 12 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) 7 A Badel Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between I AM BACK and GLORIOUS DYNASTY which was taken in by LIGHTNESS OF BEING. Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out to the finish of the event when it improved between GLORIOUS DYNASTY and LOVING VIBES which was giving ground.

6 1 EXCEED THE LIMIT (L267) 12 L Hewitson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned L Hewitson stated that after settling back in the field his mount commenced to race keenly leaving the 900 Metres. He added as a result when positioned close to DASHING MAURISON he was obliged to check and shift to the outside of DASHING MAURISON when it struck the heels of that runner. He said EXCEED THE LIMIT then continued to race keenly in the middle stages when he was restraining to obtain a position back behind DASHING MAURISON with cover.
12 2 RAGGA BOMB (K162) 6 B Avdulla Shifted in on jumping and made heavy contact with GLORIOUS ST PAUL’S. In the early stages raced keenly when being steadied to allow BULLISH NOVA to cross. RAGGA BOMB continued to race keenly throughout the middle stages. B Avdulla reported that his mount would derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 3 CLASS (L134) 1 J Orman Approaching the 150 Metres made contact with LUCK IS BACK due to both runners shifting ground.
1 4 SUNDAY'S SERENADE (J231) 9 Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 5 BULLISH NOVA (L200) 10 M Chadwick M Chadwick stated that the instructions were to obtain a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to continue forward to avoid covering additional ground. Trainer A S Cruz confirmed the instructions and stated that, in his opinion, the horse may have been better suited by being ridden more conservatively in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

7 7 DASHING MAURISON (K374) 8 H Bentley Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
4 8 LUCK IS BACK (J398) 11 E C W Wong (-3) Approaching the 150 Metres made contact with CLASS due to both runners shifting ground. Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of CLASS (J Orman) which shifted in. As a result approaching the winning post LUCK IS BACK was steadied to avoid crowding the running of FORTUNE STAR. J Orman was reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear. When questioned E C W Wong stated that the instructions were to go forward and lead if possible. He said in the early stages his mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and he was content to hold a position with cover behind BULLISH NOVA. He added that when BULLISH NOVA crossed to be one-off near the 1000 Metres he then elected to allow LUCK IS BACK to stride forward and race outside LUCKY XANDER to avoid covering additional ground. He said after improving to the outside of LUCKY XANDER, LUCK IS BACK commenced to race keenly and for this reason improved forward of LUCKY XANDER near the 550 Metres. He further stated that although he was aware the pace of the event had been run inside of standard time he was unable to set a more sustainable pace during this section of the race.
8 9 COLOURFUL GAN (L054) 3 R Kingscote No report.
5 10 FORTUNE STAR (K003) 7 A Atzeni Jumped only fairly. Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was checked to avoid GLORIOUS ST PAUL’S. Near the 600 Metres was steadied and shifted to the inside of GLORIOUS ST PAUL’S to avoid that runner. For some distance near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when crowded by LUCK IS BACK.

9 12 GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S (K524) 5 M F Poon On jumping was bumped heavily by RAGGA BOMB which shifted in . M F Poon stated that, in his opinion, the horse is better suited on the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

11 1 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) 12 P N Wong (-7) Approaching the 300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by BLAZING METEOR which was taken out by SKY DEEP. When questioned Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to go forward and attempt to obtain a position near the lead. She said in the early stages she rode her mount along in accordance with her instructions, however, she was obliged to race in a position wide and without cover outside of BLAZING METEOR. She added that whilst she recognized that the early stages of the event were being run outside of standard time she was reluctant to continue forward as she had observed BLAZING METEOR, which was stepping up in distance, racing keenly and she was of the opinion she would not be able to cross that horse if she endeavoured to do so. She said whilst VIVA GRACIOUSNESS was disadvantaged by being obliged to race wide and without cover throughout the event she felt this provided her mount with the best opportunity to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 2 SKY DEEP (K041) 1 E C W Wong (-3) SKY DEEP, which was leaning on the right side of its starting gate, jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 300 Metres was inconvenienced when taken wider by ABSOLUTE HONOUR when being shifted to the outside of ABSOLUTE HONOUR. Near the 150 Metres shifted in towards ABSOLUTE HONOUR, resulting in its rider E C W Wong having to stop riding, straighten his mount and then change his whip to his right hand. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 3 STURDY RUBY (H207) 8 L Ferraris Near the 1600 Metres was steadied when crowded between MISSION GIANT which shifted in and BLAZING METEOR which shifted out when being corrected by its rider.
12 4 TAKE ACTION (J098) 5 B Avdulla After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between AMAZING AWARD which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and PRESTIGE RICKY which was taken out by PODIUM. B Avdulla reported that, in his opinion, his mount would derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s first up performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 5 JUMBO STEPS (L269) 11 C Y Ho Trainer P C Ng confirmed from a wide barrier he had instructed C Y Ho to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide barrier.
10 6 BLAZING METEOR (L426) 7 M F Poon Near the 1600 Metres shifted out and made contact with STURDY RUBY. Approaching the 300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by SKY DEEP. M F Poon stated that the instructions were to go forward and lead if possible and race in a similar position to when it barrier trialed successfully on 18 September 2026.
7 7 MISSION GIANT (K577) 9 H T Mo (-2) Near the 300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by VIVA GRACIOUSNESS. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions were to obtain a handy position but with cover.
1 8 ABSOLUTE HONOUR (K260) 10 Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
9 9 AMAZING AWARD (J236) 6 R Kingscote After travelling a short distance shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and made contact with TAKE ACTION. When questioned regarding the horse settling further back as compared to its most recent starts R Kingscote stated that his instructions were to obtain a midfield position with cover. He said Trainer D Eustace had issued those instructions as he was of the opinion AMAZING AWARD had not been finishing its races off strongly when ridden in a more forward position. He added in the early stages whilst there was an opportunity to cross PODIUM, having regard to his instructions, he elected to obtain a trailing position behind that runner. Trainer Eustace confirmed the instructions and the reasons he issued such instructions.
3 10 PRECISION HOPE (L047) 2 A Badel Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 11 PODIUM (H173) 3 A Atzeni After travelling a short distance shifted out and made contact with PRESTIGE RICKY. Briefly held up on the Home Turn.
5 12 PRESTIGE RICKY (K009) 4 K Teetan Crowded after travelling a short distance. In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid PRECISION HOPE.

Race:5 (83) THE CHINESE GENERAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CUP (HANDICAP) (Sec1) Class 4 1000 m

7 1 GRAND NOVA (J323) 1 R Kingscote Jumped only fairly. Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid VIGOR EYE which shifted in to resume its position after hanging out.
3 2 MASTER CHAMPION (K266) 10 H Y Yuen (-7) When questioned regarding her riding out over the concluding stages Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that after placing her mount under full pressure with the whip MASTER CHAMPION commenced to finish the race off well. She said approaching the finish of the event MASTER CHAMPION shifted in towards IRON SECURITY and as she was concerned her mount would make contact with IRON SECURITY and potentially cause interference she desisted from riding her mount with the whip and as a result she did not fully test the horse out to the finish of the event with full vigour although she was able to continue to encourage MASTER CHAMPION to the end of the race. After considering the evidence the Stewards accepted the explanation of Apprentice Yuen, however, she was warned that in similar circumstances she should demonstrate to the Stewards with her concern by straightening her mounts rather than desisting from using the whip.
9 3 COPPER CORE (L214) 8 K C Leung Bumped shortly after the start. After travelling a short distance became unbalanced when bumped by GEORGIAN SIGMA which shifted out slightly. Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up when disappointed for clear running between MAPOGO and MASTER CHAMPION. COPPER CORE then could not be fully ridden out to the finish when racing in restricted room between MAPOGO and GRAND NOVA.
5 4 SUPERB KING (K479) 4 Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
10 5 VIGOR EYE (L068) 2 H Bentley Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Hung out near the 600 Metres despite the efforts of its rider. The racing manners of VIGOR EYE were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VIGOR EYE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 6 BEAUTY SHOW (L260) 11 A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that he was instructed to go forward but his mount was unable to cross runners to his inside which resulted in it being obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added that BEAUTY SHOW was further disadvantaged when MAPOGO was positioned to his outside which resulted in BEAUTY SHOW then weakening noticeably in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BEAUTY SHOW was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY SHOW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
4 7 BRILLIANT TURN (L368) 6 J Orman No report.
1 8 GEORGIAN SIGMA (L007) 7 Y L Chung (-2) After travelling a short distance shifted out and made contact with COPPER CORE. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 9 GOLDEN ACE (L461) 9 B Avdulla Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between COPPER CORE and MASTER CHAMPION which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. When questioned regarding his riding B Avdulla stated that with the anticipated fast early pace he expected the horse to settle back in the field. He said GOLDEN ACE, which was having its second race start, raced greenly throughout the event. He added near the 200 Metres he commenced to improve between VIGOR EYE and BRILLIANT TURN, however, when his mount continued to race greenly and he was of the opinion VIGOR EYE which had hung out on the first turn may shift ground, he was obliged to ride his mount with some caution at this point. He added after establishing a run between VIGOR EYE and BRILLIANT TURN near the 150 Metres he was able to apply full vigour to his mount and after being shifted to the inside of SUPERB KING to continue into clear running leaving the 100 Metres, he was still obliged to ride his mount with some caution, particularly when improving close to GEORGIAN SIGMA.
2 10 IRON SECURITY (L174) 3 P N Wong (-7) Sent for sampling post-race.
11 11 JACKSON HABIT (L036) 5 A Badel Leaving the 600 Metres was severely checked when crowded between COPPER CORE and VIGOR EYE (H Bentley) which hung out despite the efforts of its rider.
8 12 MAPOGO (L175) 12 K Teetan When questioned K Teetan stated that his instructions were to go forward and attempt to lead as MAPOGO races best in this position. He said from the outside barrier he rode his mount along in the early stages to comply with those instructions but was unable to cross BEAUTY SHOW when that runner remained three deep. He said approaching the first turn near the 600 Metres he continued to ride MAPOGO forward as he had anticipated BEAUTY SHOW crossing GEORGIAN SIGMA and SUPERB KING which would allow him to obtain a position one off the rail. He said when BEAUTY SHOW did not show sufficient pace to cross runners to its inside this resulted in MAPOGO being obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer K L Man confirmed the instructions issued. Having regard to his explanation and the sectional times of the event which identified the race being run near standard time the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Teetan were reasonable in the circumstances.

5 2 GRIT SPIRIT (L116) 7 C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with KWAI CHUNG TALENTS. When placed under pressure in the Home Straight lay in. For some distance approaching the 100 Metres was reluctant to shift to the outside of HEALTHY HEALTHY.
8 3 STARRY SHOW (L074) 8 R Kingscote Raced keenly in the middle stages and for some distance near the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from VIEW OF COSMOS.
2 4 UNSTOPPAPLE (L205) 12 K C Leung Jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted on UNSTOPPABLE at the request of Trainer C S Shum.  The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea.  Before being allowed to race again, UNSTOPPABLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 5 CALIFORNIA BAY (K364) 2 K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then was hampered when crowded by VIEW OF COSMOS which shifted in.
4 6 KING OBERON (H407) 9 P N Wong (-7) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

7 8 HAPPY UNITED (H208) 5 M Chadwick When questioned M Chadwick stated that his instructions were to go forward and given the option to lead if circumstances permitted. He said whilst HAPPY UNITED jumped well, when NO OTHER CHOICE improved to his inside in the early stages he elected to allow NO OTHER CHOICE to take the lead with a view to sitting to that runner’s outside. He said when KWAI CHUNG TALENTS then improved quickly to his outside this resulted in HAPPY UNITED obtaining a position with cover behind the lead. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions and stated that, in his opinion, Jockey Chadwick would have been better suited by leading the event, particularly having regard to the manner in which it jumped tonight and the early stages of the race being run outside of standard time. After considering his explanation the Stewards advised Jockey Chadwick that, in their opinion, he had made an error of judgement by not taking advantage of his mount’s good start and riding HAPPY UNITED in a positive manner to lead the event in the early stages. When questioned regarding his riding out to the finish of the event M Chadwick stated that after testing his mount in the Home Straight he was unable to fully ride it out close to the finish due to KING OBERON shifting in slightly. Jockey Chadwick was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of every race.
12 9 NO OTHER CHOICE (K049) 1 A Badel When questioned A Badel stated that he was instructed to ride the horse where comfortable. He said when NO OTHER CHOICE showed pace in the early stages and HAPPY UNITED did not contest the lead, his mount was able to obtain the front without being pressured to do so. He added when placed under pressure in the Home Straight NO OTHER CHOICE failed to respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner. Trainer C Fownes advised that the horse had pleased him leading into the event and he had expected it to perform well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have a heart condition which requires further assessment. Notwithstanding a further veterinary assessment, the performance of NO OTHER CHOICE was considered disappointing. 8 4 LUCKY PLANET (H235) 3 M F Poon When giving ground near the 50 Metres was inconvenienced when crowded by TARGET AUDIENCE which, after being taken out slightly by BRIGHT DAY, then shifted out and away from BRIGHT DAY.
2 5 TARGET AUDIENCE (K107) 7 A Badel Shortly after the start became unbalanced when it made contact with DARYL FLASH. Near the 700 Metres lay in and away from YOUNG ARROW and as a result was steadied to avoid BRIGHT DAY. Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres was inconvenienced when taken out slightly by BRIGHT DAY which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 6 POWER KOEPP (E301) 11 L Ferraris L Ferraris was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 50 Metres (see YOUNG ARROW). L Ferraris stated that his instructions were not to push the horse early and settle where comfortable. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to take up a position behind midfield and to ensure his mount was able to obtain cover.
7 7 SAVVY BRILLIANT (J437) 10 A Atzeni Jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start was steadied to avoid POWER KOEPP which shifted in slightly. Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of LUCKY PLANET. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when held up between AURORA LADY and FLYING WROTE.
12 8 MATTERS MOST (K154) 12 E C W Wong (-3) E C W Wong stated that he had to make use of his mount from the outside barrier to go forward which resulted in MATTERS MOST not being able to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

3 10 QUANTUM CLOUD (L221) 2 L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with the right side of the starting gate and lost ground.
9 11 DARYL FLASH (L168) 6 Y L Chung (-2) Shortly after the start became unbalanced when it made contact with FLYING WROTE due to both runners shifting ground. Y L Chung stated that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, whilst racing second up, would derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 12 YOUNG ARROW (J401) 8 M Chadwick L Ferraris (POWER KOEPP) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 50 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of YOUNG ARROW, resulting in YOUNG ARROW having to be checked. L Ferraris was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 28 October 2026 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. M Chadwick stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event and after receiving interference near the 50 Metres he was unable to test the horse to the finish. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

9 1 DAZZLING FIT (K298) 7 Z Purton Was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned Z Purton stated that after following FLYING FORTUNE during the event he improved to that runner’s inside near the 350 Metres as he felt FLYING FORTUNE was under pressure and he would be able to make ground to its inside. He said he also had expected the leaders to shift away from the rail as had been the racing pattern during tonight and this influenced his decision to save ground. He added that when FLYING FORTUNE improved into the event better than he had expected and RUN RUN SMART and DO YOU JUST which had set a fast pace in front commenced to give ground, he then became badly held up behind RUN RUN SMART and DO YOU JUST near the 250 Metres and as a consequence he was obliged to check his mount for some distance approaching the 100 Metres. He further stated that after losing significant momentum at this point DAZZLING FIT finished the race only fairly thereafter. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Purton were reasonable in the circumstances. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 2 POPE CODY (K313) 2 A Badel Jumped only fairly. Held up on the Home Turn. Near the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of DO YOU JUST. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 3 PRESTIGE GOOD (K131) 6 R Kingscote When placed under pressure in the Home Straight hung in, resulting in its rider R Kingscote having to stop riding and straighten his mount near the 200 Metres.
12 4 DO YOU JUST (L094) 4 Y L Chung (-2) When questioned regarding his riding Y L Chung stated that his instructions were to go forward and lead. He said after establishing a position one-off to the outside of URANUS STAR, when URANUS STAR was crossed near the 1000 Metres and looked to shift out, this would have resulted in his mount being forced to race three wide and without cover. He said for this reason and whilst recognizing the pace of the event was being run inside of standard time, he elected to continue forward of URANUS STAR to ensure that URANUS STAR remained racing on the rail behind RUN RUN SMART. He added this resulted in the pace of the event being run faster than he would have anticipated. He further stated that his decision to go forward was influenced by the fact that DO YOU JUST races best when able to race without cover. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 5 RUN RUN SMART (K080) 11 H Y Yuen (-7) Near the 200 Metres was inconvenienced when momentarily crowded by PRESTIGE GOOD which hung in as it was being corrected by its rider. When questioned regarding the fast early pace set during the event Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to go forward with a view to sitting outside URANUS STAR, a horse she had expected to lead. She said after being caught wide in the early stages she had to make use of her mount to cross DO YOU JUST near the 1300 Metres and this resulted in her mount being positioned approximately half a length in front of URANUS STAR. She added although she was aware her mount was setting a fast pace in front she elected to continue forward to cross URANUS STAR near the 1000 Metres to avoid racing in an awkward position to that runner’s outside. She said after crossing URANUS STAR, RUN RUN SMART then was further disadvantaged when DO YOU JUST improved to her outside which resulted in the pace of the event being run faster than she would have perferred. After considering her explanation the Stewards found the tactics that she adopted were reasonable in the circumstances, however, she was told, wherever possible, she should endeavour to set a more sustainable pace. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 150 Metres was hampered when taken wider by POPE CODY (A Badel) which shifted to the outside of DO YOU JUST to improve. A Badel was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

1. 7 October 2026 Happy Valley Racemeeting

Race 4 (82)
Trainer K H Ting pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 50(2) in that he failed to prevent the administration of a prohibited substance inside the recommended withdrawal period for BIG BIG WORLD which was Standby Declared Starter 1 for the above-mentioned race, which resulted in the horse being a pre-declaration withdrawal from the event. Mr Ting was fined the sum of $10,000 and advised that he must implement better management systems within his stable to prevent a similar occurrence in future. In considering penalty the Stewards took into consideration Mr Ting reported the matter to the Stewards.
