12 2 SUPER SIXTY (J071) 10 E C W Wong (-3) E C W Wong stated that his mount came under pressure from the 500 Metres and failed to respond to his riding thereafter. He added that, in his opinion, the horse is better suited racing at Happy Valley. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between ALMIGHTY LIGHTNING and CASA BUDDY which shifted out after being bumped by INVICTUS. C L Chau reported that his mount was unable to finish the race off over the concluding stages which he attributed to the horse racing without cover during the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

6 8 PRECISION MIND (L296) 11 K Teetan Jumped only fairly. For some distance after the 500 Metres raced tight to the outside of SUPER SIXTY. Over the final 300 Metres lay out.

5 11 STAR PERFORMER (K207) 1 L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that when his mount jumped awkwardly and shifted in towards the inside rail he then elected to maintain his position towards the inside rail for the remainder of the event. Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, STAR PERFORMER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.

DNF 2 LUCKY RANGER (L071) 8 L Ferraris Bumped at the start. Approaching the 250 Metres LUCKY RANGER sustained an injury to the left front leg and was immediately treated by Veterinarians. After it was determined that the injury was too severe to be saved, LUCKY RANGER was euthanised. L Ferraris was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and stood down from his subsequent riding engagements. Samples were taken from the horse.
2 3 ROBOT STAR (K559) 7 H Bowman On jumping shifted out and made contact with LUCKY RANGER. Approaching the 250 Metres was severely checked to avoid LET’S HAVE FUN. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 4 CLEANSWEEPER (K555) 9 K C Leung Near the 250 Metres was steadied to avoid ROBOT STAR.
5 5 FLYING KNIGHT (K370) 13 C Y Ho Near the 250 Metres was hampered when it shifted out and away from ROBOT STAR.
9 6 KING CANNON (K543) 10 R Kingscote From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
10 7 LET'S HAVE FUN (L118) 4 B Avdulla Jumped only fairly. Between the 450 Metres and the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. Approaching the 250 Metres became badly unbalanced when being severely checked to avoid LUCKY RANGER when that runner went amiss. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 8 CALIFORNIA BAY (K364) 6 Z Purton When giving ground near the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by ILLUMINOUS. Shortly after CALIFORNIA BAY was steadied to avoid GALLANT EPOCH (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted out whilst being ridden along. Apprentice Yuen was reprimanded and advised she must ensure that she stops riding and straightens her mounts whilst not clear. Z Purton stated that when unable to cross GALLANT EPOCH and I EXCELLE in the early stages his mount was left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have blood in its mouth.
3 9 ILLUMINOUS (J170) 2 M F Poon Slow to begin. Approaching the 250 Metres shifted in and away from LUCKY RANGER and made contact with CALIFORNIA BAY.
7 10 GOR GOR (K104) 12 K Teetan Near the 250 Metres was checked to avoid CALIFORNIA BAY. K Teetan advised that he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages as connections felt it was advantageous to settle back in the field having regard to today’s racing pattern.

Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was then unable to obtain clear running and passing the 150 Metres was steadied when disappointed between LUCRATIVE EIGHT and LITTLE MONSTER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

10 8 CALL ME SUCCESS (K462) 7 A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that his mount was stirred up prior to the event and raced keenly in the early and middle stages before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 9 DRAGON HALL (K345) 11 J Orman J Orman stated that the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said with the blinkers being applied for the first time DRAGON HALL raced too keenly and settled in a more forward position than intended and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
5 10 LITTLE MONSTER (K391) 14 K C Leung Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Near the 800 Metres shifted in and was steadied to avoid DRAGON HALL. In the early stages of the Home Straight hung in, resulting in its rider K C Leung changing his whip through to his right hand near the 300 Metres. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
9 11 SUNNY Q (J223) 12 H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
7 12 COME FAST FAY FAY (K121) 5 R Kingscote Jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start was bumped by MR INCREDIBLE which shifted out. After being crossed by EVERSTAR then raced keenly in the early stages and was steadied to avoid that runner for some distance near the 800 Metres.

Apprentice P N Wong stated that as the start was effected her mount sat back in the starting gate and as a consequence jumped awkwardly and lost ground. She said this resulted in WONDERSTAR settling further back in the field than intended.
