Racing Incident Report
COUNTRY MUSIC, which was fractious after being boxed, was slow to begin. NATURAL BLITZ was slow to begin. THE DUKE began awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with FOKINE which was slow to begin. Approaching the Home Turn, TRIUMPHANT UNICORN was held up when awkwardly placed inside the heels of ABLE PRINCE which commenced to give ground. FOKINE, which was following TRIUMPHANT UNICORN, was shifted to the inside of that horse to obtain clear running. Shortly after straightening, TRIUMPHANT UNICORN shifted to the inside of THE DUKE to obtain clear running. Near the 200 Metres, THE DUKE, which was commencing to give ground, was bumped by TRIUMPHANT UNICORN. A Delpech (FOKINE) reported although his mount ran a respectable race, in his opinion it was not comfortable on today's track conditions. SPECIAL KING PRAWN, FIGURES and COUNTRY MUSIC were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported SPECIAL KING PRAWN had lost its left front plate and ABLE PRINCE had lost its right front plate. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported COUNTRY MUSIC was lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, COUNTRY MUSIC will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
