Racing Incident Report

Prior to the event, the Veterinary Surgeon said he noted the off side eye of RED SUN was not completely open and the area around the eye was showing signs of swelling. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after the necessary consultations it was decided RED SUN was suitable to race. GOGGLES missed the start badly. In the early stages, JEUNE KING PRAWN was inclined to get its head on the side and lay in. Just after the 400 Metres, DANAMITE was steadied and shifted in abruptly to avoid GOOD RECORD which was giving ground. Approaching the 200 Metres, SCORE accidentally clipped the heels of GOOD RECORD which was weakening. As a consequence of this, SCORE knuckled and nearly fell. Near the 200 Metres, THANK HEAVENS and GOGGLES came together due mainly to THANK HEAVENS endeavouring to shift out. L Dettori (MAN OF HONOUR) said in the Straight he was concerned with the action of the horse, because of this did not ride it out as he normally would.
