Racing Incident Report

PERPETUAL PLEASURE began awkwardly, got its head up and lost ground at the start. At the Start, GOOD HEART and MAGICAL LOT were crowded for room by SPRINTER which shifted in. On jumping, GOOD FIT and MY EGO bumped. Then for some distance after this, MY EGO raced tight between GOOD FIT and HAPPY CONTENDER which shifted in. In the early stages, FANTASTIC WIN proved difficult to settle. Near the 1500 Metres, GOOD FIT was bumped by MY EGO which got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly away from HAPPY CONTENDER. On straightening, SPRINTER was steadied when disappointed for running between PERPETUAL PLEASURE and MY EGO which shifted out slightly. At the 300 Metres, GREENMORE was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running on the inside of MAGICAL LOT. Near the 200 Metres, SPRINTER was steadied and shifted in to avoid the heels of LUCKY LAD which was giving ground. SPRINTER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of SPRINTER after the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY CONTENDER, which finished tailed out, was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, HAPPY CONTENDER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant abnormalities. The performance of HAPPY CONTENDER was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY CONTENDER will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRETTY TRIO and DIAMOND MOON were sent for sampling.
