Racing Incident Report

CLASSA FOR EVER was slow to begin and shortly afterwards shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of HELENE PILLAGING which shifted out. FLASHING STAR began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and made contact with PAOBRIDGE which on jumping shifted out. BEST LUCK began awkwardly, causing W Woods, its rider, to become unbalanced. Shortly after this, BEST LUCK shifted out and bumped GOLDEN CARE which became unbalanced. When the gates opened, AMAZING VICTORY bounded in the air and lost ground. Near the 1000 Metres, CLASSA FOR EVER, which had been ridden along to make up ground, was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALWAYS WELCOME. After this, CLASSA FOR EVER proved difficult to settle. From the commencement of the turn at the 700 Metres until after straightening, AMAZING VICTORY hung out. In the Straight, FLASHING STAR hung out. For the major part of the race, ENRICHING hung in. Throughout the race, OUR JET raced wide and without cover. O Doleuze (CLASSA FOR EVER), which was having its first start on the All Weather surface tonight, said after being boxed the horse became fractious, reared and dislodged him. He said when the gates opened CLASSA FOR EVER was slow to begin, he then rode along to try and make up lost ground, the horse commenced to over-race with him after making the turn at the 700 Metres, then near the 600 Metres did not respond when placed under pressure. He said in the Straight CLASSA FOR EVER did not quicken and finished well beaten. He said following the race he did not feel there was anything amiss with the horse. CLASSA FOR EVER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A subsequent veterinary inspection of CLASSA FOR EVER did not reveal any significant abnormalities. The performance of CLASSA FOR EVER, a last start winner, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSA FOR EVER will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ALWAYS WELCOME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ALWAYS WELCOME after the race did not show any significant findings. HELENE PILLAGING and OUR JET were sent for sampling.
