Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, CAPITALAND reared high and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground at the start. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, ABLE KNIGHT got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of GLOBAL WIN which shifted out while hanging. GLOBAL WIN continued to hang out for the remainder of the race. After the 1200 Metres, ABLE KNIGHT got its head on the side and shifted in momentarily. After the 200 Metres, FORTUNE PRINCESS, which was closing the race off, shifted to the outside of MILLION SUCCESS to continue going forward, then after the 100 Metres was shifted to the outside of MR COOL. D Dunn (MR COOL), 7th placegetter, was reminded of his responsibilities to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the winning post where possible. C Munce (FORTUNE PRINCESS) said the intention had been from the wide barrier to endeavour to obtain a position in front of midfield, however, he should if possible obtain cover. He said when the gates opened, SPEEDING MOLLY which had drawn two stalls inside him began better than FORTUNE PRINCESS and was then immediately hard ridden to go forward. He said because of this he did not believe FORTUNE PRINCESS would have the necessary pace to go forward with SPEEDING MOLLY, so he immediately elected to come back behind runners onto the fence but at the rear. He said as a consequence FORTUNE PRINCESS travelled further back than was intended. SUNNY DESERT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, SUNNY DESERT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY DESERT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SPEEDING MOLLY and DORDENMA were sent for sampling.
