Racing Incident Report

RED STORM RISING bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. Shortly after the start, FINANCIAL KID was bumped by LUCKY WINNER which shifted out. KIMBO KID began awkwardly, then lost further ground when steadied to avoid the heels of SPEED FIGHTER. From the outside gate, SIAMERIC TE SPECSO got its head up on jumping and was taken across behind runners. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, INVERNESS bumped the running rail after making contact with SPEED FIGHTER which was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of PLEZAYRE. BULLDOZER, which was following SPEED FIGHTER, shifted out, causing KIMBO KID to be carried wider. At the 250 Metres, GENERAL SPEEDEE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of INVERNESS. A Delpech (GENERAL SPEEDEE) reported on jumping his saddle shifted back. When questioned, B Prebble (SIAMERIC TE SPECSO) said after the 800 Metres RED STORM RISING which had been racing to his inside shifted wider. He said when this happened, SIAMERIC TE SPECSO was somewhat reluctant to hold its position, he therefore allowed RED STORM RISING to go forward of him and shifted behind that runner in order to give SIAMERIC TE SPECSO a chance to travel comfortably. He said at its last start he had made use of SIAMERIC TE SPECSO in the middle stages to hold his position and as a consequence the horse did not finish off. He said tonight being ridden in the manner it was SIAMERIC TE SPECSO found the line strongly. O Doleuze (PLEZAYRE), which performed poorly, said at no stage of tonight's race did the horse travel comfortably. He said from a wide draw he had to make some use of PLEZAYRE in the early stages to obtain a forward position. He said PLEZAYRE travelled wide in the early stages and came under pressure shortly after the 600 Metres, however, it failed to respond to his riding. C Munce (RED STORM RISING) said after beginning poorly he made use of the horse to ensure it maintained contact with the field. He said RED STORM RISING travelled comfortably in the run, however, he was disappointed it failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. PLEZAYRE and RED STORM RISING were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PLEZAYRE and RED STORM RISING after the race did not show any significant findings. BULLDOZER and WINE WIN were sent for sampling.
