Racing Incident Report
AMAZING ME began awkwardly and was slow to begin. WHATABOB began awkwardly. Near the 1200 Metres, FIFTY FIFTY commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out across the heels of RUM SHOT, resulting in FIFTY FIFTY becoming unbalanced and being severely checked. FIFTY FIFTY then continued to prove difficult to settle and near the 1100 Metres again became unbalanced when checked away from the heels of RUM SHOT. After this, FIFTY FIFTY travelled wide and without cover. Approaching the 200 Metres, WHATABOB was checked when disappointed for clear running between FIFTY FIFTY which was commencing to give ground and RUM SHOT which shifted out slightly. After this, WHATABOB was shifted in to obtain clear running. AMAZING ME hung out rounding the Home Turn and passing the 200 Metres shifted out and bumped RUM SHOT. When under pressure in the Straight, CONESTOGA lay in. FIFTY FIFTY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, FIFTY FIFTY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. LIBERAL'S CHOICE and CONESTOGA were sent for sampling. Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that THISTLE KING had bled from both nostrils.
