Racing Incident Report
Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
| 10 | TATTENHAM (H121) | When questioned regarding the improved performance of TATTENHAM, Trainer P C Ng stated that at its last start the stable was disappointed with its performance and as a result he transferred TATTENHAM to his Conghua stable. He said he then barrier trialed TATTENHAM on 9 October 2023 where he removed the hood and the pacifiers and instructed its rider to take up a forward position in the barrier trial. He added that TATTENHAM performed well in this barrier trial and as a consequence tonight he instructed A Hamelin, from its inside barrier, to endeavour to obtain a forward position if possible which advantaged TATTENHAM tonight. He said in addition TATTENHAM was suited by the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. Was sent for sampling post-race. |
| 8 | HAPPY TRIO (G244) | Near the 50 Metres, H Bentley dropped his whip. Was sent for sampling post-race. |
| 2 | SIGHT HERO (D487) | Approaching the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid HINOKAMI KAGURA when that runner commenced to give ground. |
| 3 | HERO STAR (D033) | No report. |
| 1 | RIGHTEOUS ARION (H059) | Approaching the 800 Metres when racing keenly was steadied to avoid HINOKAMI KAGURA which shifted out. After the race, Z Purton stated that after being steadied away from HINOKAMI KAGURA approaching the 800 Metres, RIGHTEOUS ARION was then unable to improve when positioned behind that runner, but still finished the race off fairly, and in his opinion, was disadvantaged by the incident approaching the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Was sent for sampling post-race. |
| 4 | HAPPY SOUL (G249) | Bumped with BAYVIEW STAR shortly after the start and then near the 1150 Metres was crowded by HAPPY TRIO. Near the 900 Metres was crowded. When placed under pressure in the early part of the Home Straight lay out, resulting in its rider, L Hewitson, changing his whip to the left hand near the 150 Metres. |
| 5 | JOY OF SPRING (H383) | After the race, B Avdulla stated that, from his wide barrier, he was obliged to settle back in the field and the horse may not have appreciated the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
| 9 | STORMTROUPER (E100) | Was bumped at the start. |
| 6 | DOUBLE WIN (H382) | Shifted in at the start and bumped STORMTROUPER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. |
| 11 | MAGIC TRAVELLER (H102) | Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. |
| 12 | BAYVIEW STAR (G411) | Became fractious and made contact with a rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race. Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between HINOKAMI KAGURA and HAPPY SOUL which, after shifting out and bumping BAYVIEW STAR, was then taken out by HAPPY TRIO (H Bentley) which shifted out whilst being ridden along. H Bentley was advised to exercise more care. |
| 7 | HINOKAMI KAGURA (H384) | Near the 900 Metres lay in and away from DOUBLE WIN and as a consequence made contact with HAPPY SOUL. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. The performance of HINOKAMI KAGURA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HINOKAMI KAGURA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. |
