Trainer M Newnham advised that he was pleased with the horse leading into the race and stated, in his opinion, the horse may have been disadvantaged by racing to the inside but agreed it had performed below expectation. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of THOUSAND SPIRIT was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race start. Before being allowed to race again, THOUSAND SPIRIT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. K Teetan stated that after leading the event his mount gave ground in the Home Straight but he could offer no excuse for its disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

14 8 JUBILATION FOR ALL (K505) 8 R Kingscote Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration to an application from Trainer C S Shum that the horse be declared a non-runner on the basis that it had been denied a fair start. After taking evidence from Mr Shum, Jockey R Kingscote and Starter Mr A Speechley, the Stewards determined that JUBILATION FOR ALL reared simultaneously to the start being effected and on that basis the horse was declared a runner. Accordingly, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and an endoscopic examination also showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. The barrier manners and performance of JUBILATION FOR ALL were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, JUBILATION FOR ALL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 9 CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) 14 M Chadwick Lay in in the Home Straight and near the 150 Metres shifted in after making contact with DECISION LINK. Over the concluding stages CALIFORNIA STAR then raced tight to the inside of RAINBOW SEVEN. M Chadwick reported that it was expected that the horse would settle back in the field as it has a tendency to miss the start. He said today CALIFORNIA STAR jumped well and was able to hold a more forward position, however, was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

After improving to the inside of SPEEDY SMARTIE approaching the 200 Metres PACKING PHOENIX then lay out as it was reluctant to improve between MAJESTIC VALOUR and SPEEDY SMARTIE.
5 4 VOYAGE BOSS (K321) 4 K C Leung Stumbled when being loaded into the starting gates, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. On jumping became unbalanced when crowded between ZEPHYR and STORMY KNIGHT, both of which shifted ground. K C Leung reported that as a consequence VOYAGE BOSS settled further back in the field than intended.

9 6 JUBILANT STAR (K410) 11 J McDonald J McDonald stated that with his mount settling back in the field it found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight due to the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time. 1 8 COOL BOY (L014) 14 J Orman Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid LUCKY MCQUEEN when racing keenly. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 9 MONTA FRUTTA (H455) 10 Y L Chung (-2) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid VOYAGE BOSS. Again near the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid VOYAGE BOSS. Between the 400 Metres and 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind STORMY KNIGHT.
11 10 STORMY KNIGHT (L062) 3 H Bowman When questioned H Bowman stated that his mount, which was having its first race start, was reluctant to race amongst other horses. He said near the 300 Metres he improved into a narrow run between ZEPHYR and VOYAGE BOSS after which his mount would not continue to improve between those runners. He said whilst he was obliged to steady his mount near the 200 Metres when ZEPHYR and VOYAGE BOSS (K C Leung) shifted ground, he felt the racing manners of his horse was the principal reason for it having to be steadied. Notwithstanding this evidence, Jockey Leung was reprimanded and advised he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.

10 12 WINNING DIAMOND (K216) 13 U Rispoli After travelling a short distance was eased when racing tight to the inside of COOL BOY. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. U Rispoli was issued with a warning for using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height near the 250 Metres.

C Lemaire reported that the horse raced too keenly throughout the early and middle stages of the event and as a result when caught wide he was obliged to allow URBAN CHIC to stride forward from the 1800 Metres to avoid covering additional ground. He said because of the manner in which the horse raced throughout the early and middle stages it was not able to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

He said when URBAN CHIC improved to his outside near the 1100 Metres his mount did not travel well thereafter before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 9 MOMENTS IN TIME (H474) 1 H Bowman After travelling a short distance got its head up and became unbalanced when being steadied to allow GOLIATH to cross. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1700 Metres was steadied to avoid GOLIATH. H Bowman stated that he was instructed to ride the horse in a more conservative manner today to attempt to have the horse run out a strong 2400 Metres. Trainer C S Shum confirmed the instructions issued.

K Miura was advised to exercise more care and ensure he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside. BEAUTY WAVES raced wide and without cover thereafter. When commencing to give ground near the 250 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between TOMODACHI KOKOROE and RAGING BLIZZARD which shifted out.

H Doyle reported that in the middle stages her mount commenced to give ground and when she was concerned there was something amiss near the 600 Metres she did not continue to test it for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg. The performance of DIVANO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DIVANO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

L Ferraris reported that after being crossed in the early stages by DOCKLANDS he was then obliged to race further back in the field than anticipated after DOCKLANDS was crossed by VOYAGE BUBBLE. He added in the Home Straight MY WISH finished the race off fairly and, in his opinion, was slightly disappointing. 7 5 STRAIGHT ARRON (G435) 1 C Williams C Williams reported that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and near the 700 Metres became unbalanced when being checked to avoid BELLAGIO OPERA. He added in the Home Straight STRAIGHT ARRON was unable to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

3 7 QUISISANA (L910) 4 C Soumillon Bumped shortly after the start. K Yokoyama (BELLAGIO OPERA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 450 Metres he directed his mount out when not clear of QUISISANA, resulting in QUISISANA being badly crowded for room and losing its rightful running. K Yokoyama was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Thursday, 1 January 2026 and to expire on Monday, 5 January 2026 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Jockey Yokoyama was fined $100,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account the consequences of the incident and Jockey Yokoyama’s good record. When questioned C Soumillon stated that his mount enjoyed a good run in the event behind the favourite ROMANTIC WARRIOR. He said as QUISISANA only has a short sprint, when ROUSHAM PARK improved quickly to his outside near the 600 Metres he was reluctant to make a forward move at that point. He added after continuing to follow ROMANTIC WARRIOR into the race his mount then near the 450 Metres was badly crowded for room when BELLAGIO OPERA shifted out and as a consequence lost momentum. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Soumillon were reasonable in the circumstances.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Chung had made some effort to prevent his mount from shifting out, he was reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he should make a greater effort to avoid causing interference. 13 13 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) 11 Y L Chung (-2) K C Leung (AERIS NOVA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1200 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BEAUTY CRESCENT, resulting in BEAUTY CRESCENT being checked to avoid AERIS NOVA, shifting in and crowding the running of BEAUTY ETERNAL which was also checked. K C Leung was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Tuesday, 23 December 2025 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. Approaching the 900 Metres, when racing keenly, blundered when being steadied away from AERIS NOVA. Y L Chung stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after commencing only fairly his mount settled further back in the field than intended and raced keenly throughout the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
