Racing Incident Report
MY CHIEF was slow to begin. ONE STEP AHEAD began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, COLOURFUL ERA was checked and FANTASY hampered when GRAND FIGHTER (Apprentice P H Lo), which had begun awkwardly, got its head up and shifted out abruptly. In this incident, Apprentice Lo lost the use of his left stirrup for a short distance. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, TRIPLE EXPRESSO got its head on the side and hung in away from FLYING GENERAL. After passing the 600 Metres, having crossed to the lead on the fence, SONGS OF THE SUN momentarily steadied. WINNING DRAGON, FLYING MACHINE and TRIPLE EXPRESSO, which were following, were steadied in consequence. Shortly after straightening, FLYING MACHINE was shifted to the inside of WINNING DRAGON to go forward. WINNING DRAGON was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, WINNING DRAGON was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. BOBO WIN and FLYING MACHINE were sent for sampling.
